New Palazzo problems

I just got our new Palazzo 33.1 home. We drove it from Tuscon Az. all the way to Alaska. I am not to happy with way things went from the start.
I was wondering if any one has had as many problems as we did.
First thing wife try to put things in the kitchen draws and they were just falling apart as she was loading them. Lucky we where still at the dealer to fix all the draws. I can not believe the low quality work in the cabinets in this area.
Then a few days down the road wife starts washing dishes and there is no cold water coming out kitchen faucet and then water started going every where on the floor when she let the water out of the sink. So we start pulling out all the draws to see what was going on. We found that the main drain line from the sink and the washing machine had been mashed all the way closed and snapped off from the the slide-out going out. I found the cold water line was kinked so tight it was shutting the water line down. Thank goodness we did not run the washing machine. So I fixed the hose and pulled the 1 1/2 pipe out every night so the wife could wash dishes. It was getting old washing them in the bathroom sink.
Few days later on the left side night stand that has that pull out draw with hing on the bottom just comes right off in my hand. Now I am starting to wonder if we are going to get this thing home in one piece.
So now almost three weeks have gone by and everything going great. Our last camping night and next stop home. Get up the next morning to do the motor check you know the oil and trans. Did this every morning. I look down and could not believe my eyes. Glad no one was around because said some bad words and then I stop to think. I hope no one was behind me when that nice chrome tip pipe came off. Then I got down and looked and it was the pipe from the muffler back. I am figuring 3" pipe 4' long. So far we are home and the last thing that has fallen off.
Sure was one wonderful trip with my wife with all the problems we had. We both said we do it again.
Just wondering if anyone else had problems like this.

The issues are not unusual. Quality control does not exist with most RV manufacturers.

Read about a new Winnebago that had the fridge completely tip over because the never anchored it down. That I thought was the best one yet. It is very frustrating. However it usually settles down after getting the initial problems taken care of. That however requires dealer involvement which is as bad if not worse.

Be patient and persistent and you could end up with a great coach... and the next owner will be glad you took care of all the problems.
Good luck and have fun in spite of all the problems...

Thanks. We are trying to make the best out of it. I do say we had a great time bring it home even with the problems.

Welcome to the Palazzo family

Tsump. Sorry you had the problems. Some sound familiar. There is a site for Palazzo owners that will be sympathetic to your issues and several will have your exact coach. This allows someone to respond to an issue who has eyes on the item you are describing and perhaps can offer a helpful suggestion. If you have not looked at the site yet drill down one under the Thor site and you will find it.

Many of us are also members of the Thor Diesel Club. Please consider joining and partaking of some of our rallys.

Read any owner's forum and you will see the same thing. Even the Monacos. Prevosts, Tiffins, Newells. They simply paid alot more for their similar frustration. And then they make reservations at the manufacturer's repair centers to get them fixed!!

Cabinets and woodwork defects are the first thing that you will notice, simply because its the first thing that you are going to touch and stress by loading and packing with your stuff.

Next comes electrical and plumbing. Luckily, you have not mentioned any electrical issues, but you did find some kinked hoses.

Chassis issues are their own thing, as the chassis generally was delivered to the manufacturer in whatever condition it was already in, and they simply assembled a motorhome box on top of it. But, you may discover some items as you put some miles on it.

Finally, you will find issues with the exterior of your coach, (if any). As miles and road vibration do their thing. Window leaks, cracks, gaps with endcaps, fiberglass cracks, defective latches or hinges.

Welcome to the privilege of being the person to identify all of the warranty reparable issues that is an included "unwritten benefit" of NEW motorhome ownership!

feel your pain..the first night in our tuscany..flooded the basement and parts of kitchen. a hose clamp on a line popped off and we had a flood while we slept
funny thing was the fitting shown could not be tightened up to stop leaking..and never should have been a connection like that anyway, we changed out all lines like this for ones with manufactured fittings in place not cut and chopped
now after 7 years we have all figured it out

damon ignored it and said it didn't leak at the factory during tests ???? at sit down...100 PSI

True. Read the forums & you can see that some manufacturers are worst than others

I was wondering if you had problems with that 300 Cummins engine, and did it come with a turbo? Also the 36.1 & 36.2 but the 33.1 use the same blocks and all, but the 36's have 340 hp so do the 340hp Cummins come with Turbo? Sorry you had thoes problems. It's making me think twice. Hi, I have not logged in for a long time but we also live in Arizona and own a Palazzo. We not only had problems with the quality of the build but our dealer who ended up going out of business. We have had SO MANY problems too many to mention but the main one is our water heater caught fire. We got it out in time so no one was hurt. Personally this coach has been my worst nightmare or it least it was the first year. Oh we did have that same sink issue where water was leaking. I bet you got a much better one than we did. GOOD luck

We looked at a Palazzo out of curiosity last year. It was on the show room floor at Camping World in Katy, TX. The attention to detail and trim would have been an embarrassment for me to have that unit on display. Misaligned doors, loose trim, nails protruding, drawers that would not close completely.
