Palazzo Generator for home power outage

Just a question for you guys out there. I used to have a Georgie Boy Suite Gas Class A. To have generator power inside the coach you had to have the large power cable plugged into an outlet inside the coach power compartment to complete a circuit. The Palazzo however does not need this, it just works. With my old gas unit I had a friend rig our home breaker box and was able to run our entire house off the RV generator except for air conditioner, washer and dryer. If we had a power outage (e.g. ice storm) I could plug from the four prong outlet inside the coach to a plug near our breaker box, turn the main breaker off, flip a different breaker to enable the generator to power our home. Can the Palazzo do this? I was hesitant to try because the palazzo seems only to accept power via shore but can it also act as a home generator like my old gas unit? Thanks.

I think the transfer switch is going to route power from the generator to the coach and disconnect the power cord. Therefore, you would need to pigtail off the right place in the transfer switch to create a connector for your Palazzo power cord. It seems like this could be done but serious thought needs to go into protecting one from a hot connector on the pigtail. Not sure this would be a good thing to do.

Your new coach has an automatic transfer switch to select either the generator or shore power. As such unlike your Georgie Boy the Palazzo doesn't have the plug/outlet that you could tap into.

Can your new coach be modified? Sure just splice in a male/female 50 amp plugs between the generator and transfer switch but I would really be hesitant to try. My risk tolerance is a bit high when it comes to unusual mods on the coach. Get this one wrong or back feed line power into the generator and repairs are going to be very expensive.

Tapping into the generator output is doable as others have mentioned.

You will need a transfer switch installed on the house wiring to be safe and, I believe, legal. They dont trust people just flipping breakers off.

The linemen don't like power coming out of houses while they repair damage.

With the right controls, it would be no different then then a standby generator, except it has an expensive enclosure.
