Palazzo Light Switch Rewiring

I would like to move the light switches to locations more intuitive for the user. Has anyone done this and can share how the wiring is routed? I did find where some of the switches can be purchased that match the original:

Routing the wire from the old location to the new is the big issue. Sometimes there are spaces to fish wire, sometimes insulation or other impediments to a fish tape get in the way. Also, to just add a second switch to a 12 v system can get complicated. 120 v 3 way switches are often easy in comparison, according to whether (+) side or ground is switched.
