Key; don't use the little amp that comes with the kit. All I did after removing the crank up gear, and disconnecting the cable from the antenna, was connect and install the JACK as directed. Did not even touch the BOMB.
Works great.
So my engineering mind is clear when you said that you did touch the BOMB does that mean the wired connection to the BOMB used for the "Batwing" is the same for the "Jack"?

I have read on other posts that the provided Jack AMP should NOT be used and your post confirms.

See you in MB!

Like you, I had read that the JACK amp would not let you hook to the BOMB. So I did not install it. Reading the BOMB manual it pretty much does the same thing.
I removed the antenna and cut/re-spliced an end connector (it is different) and hooked the cable directly to the JACK antenna (using the same cable).
Power is supplied to the JACK head through the cable.
I did not install/remove/re-route any cables to the BOMB.
Works on all TV's using the BOMB as before.

If it has to do with wiring it don't have my name on it. So I had my dealer install my "jack". It work just like the original crank up did. I saw on here a picture of where someone put the "jack" on the crank up arm and use it like that ??

I believe that is an option. I did away with the crank up stuff.
I also added the adapter plate when installing. It was recommended if replacing the crank up mounting plate.

When you put the new connector on the cable was it the existing cable or the jack cable?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, I used the existing cable. I believe it was gray in color.
I un-screwed it from the bat wing and pulled it through the long arm.
Measured the amount I needed and cut it off. Installed a new connector.
Followed the directions from there to install the JACK.

Thanks, I was able to pick up jack from PPL for $109. I think it was a one day sale or something. I drove over and picked it up because it was last day.
