Palazzo Water Pump - filter or not?

An owner of Brand N says I need to clean the filter in my water pump.

Since I don't recall seeing anything about this, the pump is difficult to access, and I'm feeling too lazy to dig through manuals, does anyone know for sure whether our water pump has a filter that needs cleaning/changing periodically?

There is an in-line strainer at the water pump.
