Patio Awning Deployment

After taking delivery on a 2015 Palazzio 35.1 I find that the power awning fails to deploy. Since I did not try it before driving home, I do not know how to operate it. There is a switch at the lower left when opening the entrance door that says retract and deploy but the awning does not respond to pressing this switch. Can anyone shed some light on the operation of the awning? The manual simply says to press the switch.

Not familiar with the unit specifically, but I have found sometimes a breaker has been inadvertently tripped, or a fuse blown....

Just a thought

Make sure you are inverting. I think the awning runs on 110

Awning

Your awning works off the 12 volt system. Will not work if the engine is running......same with operating the slides.......safety issue.

FYI: I just had both arms replaced at the Thor Rally in Goshen. The upper most arm with the two knoches in them is where it was found to be bent. We all were scratching our heads on how this could happen. We even had a rep from Carefree looked at it and couldn't tell how it was to happen, but authorized Thor to replace the arms.
Now, it was mentioned by the carefree rep that using the the sun shade additional blocker with the tie downs or using tie downs for additional support is not recommended????? I said how can Carefree sell this sun shade blocker and instruct you to use the tie downs to secure it.........no answer.
I will pursue this issue with corporate Carefree on this and will post any further information I receive.
On the 33.2 bedroom topper is a carefree while the large slide topper is made by Dometic rep told me too.

Our awning has a on off switch inside the coach to prevent accidental deployment

Thor does not put that switch in their coaches.

So, how do you deploy the awning?

Not sure who you are posing the question to. If it is me, there is a switch to extend and retract the awning but no off and on switch to keep the wind sensor from retracting the awning.

My problem is when I push the extend switch nothing happens. Should the engine be on/off, inverter on/off, and does one need to hold the switch in the extend position for a period of time until the canopy starts opening?

The engine should be off and the ignition key should also be in the off position. Hold the button down until the awning opens. If it doesn't open try pushing the button down in the opposite position. The inverter does not need to be turned on to operate the awning as it has a 12 volt motor.

I should add that the '13 &'14 Palazzo's do not have a wind sensor. I'm not sure about the '15s.

Thanks, that is exactly the info I was looking for since the manual is rather vague.

Let us know if this solves your question. If it doesn't you might try call Thor's customer service for a better answer.

Good Luck!
