Research done! 2018 Palazzo ordered!

After a year of research, numerous visits to dealers with test drives, reading countless forum posts, and taking two Thor DP factory tours, we pulled the trigger and sold our gas Class A and ordered a 2018 Thor Palazzo 33.2.

We went with ordering a 2018 vs. purchasing existing 2017 inventory due to the several upcoming features/updates to the Palazzo line and all the upcoming interior (fabric, colors, and flooring) and exterior FBP color changes. Timing for delivery is early-mid June.

Many thanks to all the posts and forum contributors. All these greatly helped us make our informed decision and ultimately pick the Palazzo as our first diesel pusher. So excited! The Palazzo was our selection once we factored in i) included features, ii) interior/exterior styling (love the front end cap), iii) price (or course!), and iv) improvements since the line was introduced by Thor.

Cheers, Jim

Hi Deano, we visited the Thor DP factory last week where they make Palazzo, Aria, and Tuscany coaches. We got the run down from them directly of the changes. I haven't seen anything else online yet, thus our trip in person.

Congratulations Jim & Beth! iRV2 is by far the best website I've found for Palazzo Owners. Post some pictures when you take delivery!

Congratulations Jim!

Would you please take a minute to post exactly what the feature/updates will be to the Palazzo line in 2018? That info would be very helpful to those of us who are considering a purchase of a new Palazzo very soon!

Here are some notes I captured last week during our Thor tour for what's coming in the '18 Palazzo.

> 33.4 floorplan is discontinued.

> Resort Cherry cabinet color is discontinued. New color is Newport (to go along with still-in-production Pacific Cherry and Milan). We really liked the Newport and went with this cabinet color.

> Desert Dune and Maple Street interior decors are discontinued. New decors are Quarry and Seaside (to go along with still-in-production Nightfall).

> The four current exterior FBP colors are discontinued to be replaced by four new FBP color schemes. Somewhere I have in my notes the names of the four new schemes but I don't have that with me now.

> Vinyl flooring which is block/tile shaped is changing to a slightly darker plank shape called Italian Walnut.

> New solid surface countertop (LG HiMacs - Golden Mountain).

> Multiplex wiring system (like Aria).

> 100W Solar with bluetooth controller.

> Axxera radio plus navigation (replacing current in-dash DVD radio).

> Carefree Latitude legless awning with Flxguard weather protector.

> Other items: New bedding package, trifold sofa design replaces air mattress, cabinet door knobs replaced with pulls, 3" backsplash in lavatory, and the pressed color top is new...called Stone Bisque.

That combo of changes made it worth us ordering an '18 although it obviously cost more. Hope that helps and would love hearing if others know of changes too.

Great info. Thanks! Too bad they aren't offering an induction cooktop for 2018 instead of the propane version.

Found more notes! The four new FBP color schemes are called: Augusta, Brandon Dunes, Doral and Streamsong. Pictures are beginning to appear on RVTrader of the paint schemes for the '18's.

I've attached two pics. One is of the flooring. Top vinyl is current production, bottom vinyl is new production. Other picture is of the new flooring with Pacific Cherry on top and the new cabinet color - Newport - on bottom.

Hi Jim and thanks for your information,

Is there a place you know of where pictures and more specifics of the 2018's are available? If they are due by mid June you'd think so!

Who did you order your coach through?

I don't yet see official Thor press on the '18 changes, however, on dealer's websites where they have '18s on order, I now see the new graphics/FBP colors and some now have the lists of '18 changes.

We ordered ours through Total Value RV in Elkhart, IN.
