Thor confirms 10-gauge wire is used in the factory solar install...should be compatible for additional panels in parallel according to the chart I found below.

You guys who have done the flex panel addition...what's the extra orange wire from I see in your pics?

Small solar system

Has anyone used a smaller solar panel (50W - 80W) to maintain batteries? I have (2) 6V golf cart batteries that stay charged (3 bars on my camper panel) over a 3 night trip. We dry camp without any big electrical loads other than pump, LED lights, heater useage. I am trying to avoid a large solar panel if constant exposure to say 50 watts would keep the batteries happy.

I think you'd be fine with that... IF there is plenty of direct sunlight during the sunlight hours.... but you also didn't say if you are ALSO using these draws during the day, since that is going to rob you of some of your incoming solar 'build up' for the overnight hours.

if you start with a simple small panel, you can certainly easily add another if needed, in the future as you get to know how it works for ya...
