Things to look for used 33.1 and pricing?

Hello,

I am ready to buy a used 33.1 and would like to know if there are any items to be wary of when I go for a test drive and inspection? I've found two used Palazzos in NC that are close to what I am looking for.

Obviously I will give each unit a thorough check out like any used RV or vehicle but are there 33.1 or Palazzo specific things that you have encountered during your ownership that I should look out for?

Both units are at dealerships and both are asking around $110,000. Are these fair prices?

Thanks!

Also, if these two don't work out I will still be looking for a 33.1 with drop down bunk.

Look at the slide mechanisms for wear. The early 2013's had considerable problems with the first year roll out. I would search this forum for the various issues.
Their is no washer/dryer in that model. Drop down bunk is std on models 2014 on! If you go to New or Used Class A Diesels | Camping World is a camping world rv site that sells new left over models maybe 10-15K more than the used ones currently viewing. The 33.1 was discontinued. Also check out Texas RV Dealer, Used RVs for sale, motorhome sales, new RVs for their end of year close out specials.

Good Luck

Don

Tom Johnson CampingWorld, Concord, NC just took in a 2013 Palazzo but it doesn't have the drop down bunk. Just pulled in and the previous owners were leaving in their new Winnebago.

You know what's awesome about this forum? Getting tips like this!

You know what's even more awesome? Thanks to this forum I actually had advance notice of this trade in!

Unfortunately this coach doesn't have the drop down bunk.

check heavily for water intrusion, especially around the windshield.

Simply push on the walls with your finger tips, if you feel anything mushy under there, or if you see wall paper bubbled or peeling, investigate that further.

When water seeps in from the outside, it gets soaked up by that luan plywood, and you can feel it, even if you can't exactly see it. You'll know right away.

I only say this based on a few posts regarding the 33.1 where multiple people reported water intrusion around the windshield and around the marker lights. Water can travel down cords and end up finally at places many feet away from the source of the leak.

negotiate!

I have a buddy who saw a late model RV listed for 139 at lazy dayz....

over the phone, site unseen, he talked them down to 89k, bought it over the phone, picked up two months later. Crazy story but true....

Lazy days walked him through the RV using video, and he just stayed after them until he got the price where he wanted.

The 127 is just a higher starting price... but I would highly recommend you be ready when the negotiating starts.. to mean have your money in place, and be prepared to pull the trigger. I bet you could pick that 127 33.1 up for 94k .

They took the unit to a 10 day RV show and it didn't sell.....maybe now they will be more reasonable with the price.
