Toilet Paper in black tank

I am looking for some help on how to prevent/remove build up of toilet paper in black tank. My situation is when I look down through toilet shoot, I will see toilet paper starting to pile up right at the bottom of the toilet shoot. Are there any solutions or processes that can help prevent this? When I empty the black tank I will use the tank flush/rinse connection and rinse the tank thoroughly. I then go back inside to look again and the paper can still be there. I currently take a old broom handle and stick it down the toilet to push the paper away and then back out to rinse/flush again. This is a pain.

Obviously have my daughter and wife use as little toilet paper as possible, which I have asked and they say they are doing.

Also, any solutions on how to remove the build up easily when leaving camp?

Thanks,
Matt

If you're getting paper build up at the bottom of the chute like that then you need to flush with more water.

This problem is typically seen with a toilet drain that has an offset pipe before dropping into the tank. Rarely is this seen with a direct drop, straight into the tank. If yours has the offset, the solutions I've seen written include limited use of tp, having a toilet bowl filled with water before use and using copious amounts of water during the flush. I idea is to have overwhelming force (lots of water) to overcome the bend in the pipe.

more water, more water, more water...

and not just more water, but fill the tank, after using it, with much more water
BEFORE flushing
gravity is your friend, and water helps the process

save water elsewhere, but not at the toilet

Matt, almost sounds like your starting out with a dry tank...I always add a chemical of some type with several gallons of water prior too....
To help clean it out, run just a few gallons of water in the tank with chemical and drive it...the water movement should help clean it up, then top off the tank prior to draning.....hope this helps!

Matt I am assuming you have a Palazzo but not sure of the Model since your signature does not show this?

On our 33.2 we have the same issue which to me is related to the design in the tank and the water flow provided by the system.

Our bath is on the passenger side of the coach. The blank tank starts under the toilet and runs over to the wet bay where it exits. On the passenger side the black tank is only about 6 inches deep then as it moves over to the other side is where it opens up to a larger size tank.

Since the water volume is low when flushed the paper kind of sits under the opening unless the water volume is increased or the tank gets more liquid volume in it.

What I have found that works for us is to take a pale of water around a gallon or 2 and pour it down the toilet to move the paper to the other side of the tank. For us most of the time it’s when we’re getting ready to pack up and drain the black tank anyways so not an issue. On an extended stay we may flush the tank more than once and this is done each time. I also make sure when using the black tank rinse line I monitor the panel till I start to see the light flash full if not and draining to early water is not reaching this side of the tank where the paper sits. Once this happens I go out and pull the black tank handle. I then repeat till nothing is seen in the clear elbow. I may even pour another gallon or 2 down just to make sure no paper is left.

Always remember when rising the black tank NEVER EVER get side tracked doing something else. I set my phone timer once I know how long it take based on the parks water pressure and believe me some fill a lot fast than others. I refuse to do anything else till this task is completed don’t want to clean that mess!

Hope this helps some.

Safe Travels to ALL

It's a problem with offset chute. The only thing I do not like about 33.2 Palazzo. If I have the problem I use a metal bar that I keep in the basement. I slide the bar into a piece of pvc for storage after use. I have a cap on the bottom of pvc pipe and have it on an angle so unwanted residual of a fluids do no drip out. I wipe the bar with a large Clorox wipes before storage. Happy day.

A couple gallons of water and a scoop of Happy Camper, after dumping. We use Scott's 1000 paper. Only time I've had a problem was went I forgot and started with a empty/dry tank. Then the use of Happy Camper Extreme got things flowing again.

You might try Happy Camper Extreme occationally.

Has nothing to do with the tank. The problem is build up in the offset chute. By the way, I do like happy camper.
