Unlevel campsite
We reserved a campsites at a state campground nearby for this past weekend.
When I reserved the site , I looked on line and the picture of the site did not look bad and the elevation was listed as “slight”
When we arrived we found the asphalt paved 35-40 ft long pad was wide enough and level from side to side, but from the roadway to the end of the pad, the rise was 3-1/2 feet. There was no way I would be able to level up my coach on the pad.
Are they crazy!!! That is not a slight grade.
Thankfully we were able to relocate to a site with a nice slope and had a great weekend. There were many sites with the same slope problem.
My granddaughter & I walked the campground on Sunday morning and marked on our campground map the acceptable campsites for any future visits.
From now on , I will survey all the campgrounds we visit and mark their map for the good sites they have and file it in our coach. Then for future reservations we will know what site to reserve.

Also might try some of the RV Apps for the phone and read what others have to say about the park as well ....

Where were you? I was in a KOA near Omaha NE once and they had the most unlevel sitesi haveever been in, and at a premium price. Won’t be going back there again.

It can be surprising what some camp grounds will call level. That is until you consider their entrepreneurially greed.
I was at one site that took every leveler block I had to get the rig level. It was almost comical seeing how high I had to raise the entire passenger side of a back in site.

Bob,
I have gotten good campsite review info off the RVPARKY app on my phone. That is also where you could post this info!

We have used campgoundreviews.com (formerly rparkreviews.com) for the last five years, and found it extremely helpful. It's owned by the same company as this site.
Their RVlife app is unstable under Android Q beta 5 but I use the websites. Some things really are better on a real website not a phone app :-)

This was at Obannon Woods . It is a state forest area in Southern Indiana. It is a nice place with a fantastic pool for the kids and lots of shaded sites, just not too many that are level . But now I have my own list that will work for us the next time we want to go there.
