Water Selector Valve Again
Just replaced my water selector valve insert again. It was hard to turn once and then it started leaking by causing the pump to run when in normal position. I ordered two inserts this time. (Fitzilla.com) So now I will carry a spare. The replacement is simple once the water is drained. But of course that in itself is a pain. Looking at the old versus new, one of the seats is damaged and one appears missing. It did not show up in the strainer on my pump so I have no idea where it ended up.
I am not sure if a yearly lubrication would help or not. We were on our way south from the TDC Goshen Rally when this first showed up. We are heading to the Outer Banks tomorrow for the TDC Rally at Hatteras.

I put a shutoff valve in the hose between the tank and selector valve when my selector valve failed. I turned the valve to the off position, cut the hose and stuck it on there quickly, loosing a very minimal amount of water.
I also carry a spare selector valve.
Has anybody came up with a nice replacement setup to eliminate this fragile selector valve?

Where is the best place to buy the replacement valves? Fitzilla? Could you share the part number?

Part Number
The part number is 200RV-RK. I purchased this time from Fitzilla.com. My first replacement came directly from Anderson Valve, but I figured they had done enough by gifting it the first time. Price is $26.20 each with shipping by USPS for $5.00 whether you buy one or two.
It comes with replacement instructions. There is also a youtube video of the replacement.

I also bought mine at Fitzilla. Every Palazzo owner should carry one of these as a spare, otherwise you are hating life when (not if) it blows out.

Thanks for the information BoDu! I am irritated that that valve is prone to fail after a couple of years.

One tip, rotate the valve core as you insert it. Goes in much easier. Don't ask how many times I got frustrated before learning to do so.

My valve failed the second time out, 2 months after I purchased the coach new. If you get a couple of years you are lucky.

Here at the Thor min-rally in Cape Hatteras and had a problem with water pump coming on here and there on way here. Removed the valve again and found one of the o-rings was gone again. Had and extra one to replace.
Called Anderson again and spoke to Ron in Customer service. He informed me that they again redesigned the valve recently with deeper o-ring grooves and a different o-ring material. They have been providing them to customers for the past 3 months with no negative feed back so far. He is sending me another NEW designed stem with upgraded o-rings. Told him I hope this is the fix and would not like to call him again respectfully. New stem assembly was free of charge again too!
Will install when I return home from this trip!

Yes Anderson Valve has been nice about sending replacements, but the whole valve is a POS. I have replaced it twice, and after the second time did a bit of re-plumbing so it is no longer necessary to turn the valve and it stays in the "city" position.
I ran a separate fill line from the wet bay into the tank using one of the two vent fittings. I eliminated the line from the valve thru the filter and back to the valve which eliminated a lot of flow loss. Ran the line from the tank direct to the pump, bypassing the Anderson valve.
Now, if I am hooked to shore water it flows through the valve, otherwise just turn on the pump.
We full time and I will NEVER be a place I need to use the "winterize setting" so this works for me.
I also put a pump switch in the bathroom, since we were always forgetting to turn it on and off when traveling. The switch on the panel stays on, and the switch in the bathroom turns the pump on and off when needed. (I got this idea from our previous Class C where Winnebago put pump switches in three locations for ease of use.)

You are fortunate that you got ahold of this "Ron". I called Anderson and the lady who answered the phone completely blew me off. I had to order the valve somewhere else and pay for it myself.

I will be replacing the entire valve setup as appsol did, when I can find the time. Along with being unreliable, it takes entirely too long to fill the water tank.
