While this sound great for the small price to pay. However, I am not really sure if that is the right way to do it, simply because besides your HP and TORQUE, have you ever thought about the more power and torque would put more stress to the 2100 transmission? Is this the reason why the 340HP engine came with the larger transmission ie 2500 instead of 2100?

I may be wrong, but would that be the principle?

I spoke with Allison and they told me that the transmissions were exactly the same except for gear ratio. The 2100 will handle the extra HP and Torque without voiding the warranty if Freightliner does the upload.

The gear ratio is for the startup with the extra CGVW for the 35 series.

Thanks for the info. It is great to know.

If Allison already confirm that, for $300 to $500 to get a boost for more HP, more TORQUE with improving MPG, what else anyone could ask for...
