2014 timber ridge dfi fault

Newbie here. Just tried to turn on gas water heater. Turned it on first time earlier today. This time got dfi fault. Any ideas as to how to correct? Gas stove works fine.

Hot water heater brand name and model number, would help get more answers.
Do you have the operators manual.

It is a suburban. Not quite sure of model number. We turned off gas and power, checked reset and all connections, still didn't work. As it was getting dark, we turned on a light next to control panel and all of a sudden it fired up.

Mine always takes a few seconds to light up.
During that time, the DFI light is on.
Goes off once it's lit.

My DFI light always takes a few seconds before the water heater fires on.

Took about 30 seconds and it lit. Thank you. Still getting familiar with rig.

A small amount of air trapped in the propane system may have caused the delay, it may fire up faster on your next use.
If the main control does detect flame, in three ignition attempts, it will shut down and not try to re-light until the switch is turned off/on again.

I typically ensure that my lines are purged of air after every time I open the propane valves by lighting 1 or more burners on the stove until the flame is burning smoothly (typically ~10-15 seconds or so). I notice that it helps the lighting of the fridge too.
