23DBS Question

Looking to upgrade both the TV and the TT after this coming season and have really liked the looks of the ORV units. We are wanting to stay around 28' max coupler to bumper given storage constraints at the house. So we spent the afternoon today looking at a few models in that 28' or shorter length and I must say I was a little disappointed at how many had inaccessible bathrooms with the slides in.

One model the dealer didn't have on the lot was the Timber Ridge 23DBS. From the looks of the floorplan online it would seem that this one does have an accessible bathroom with the slide in so I'm hoping that someone who actually has one could confirm that for me.

Thanks in advance for any info provided.

23DBS Question

I would qualify the bathroom as “semi-accessible “ with the slide in. It is a super tight squeeze getting past the table and the counter. Once past, the bathroom door and the bathroom itself are totally usable.

We absolutely love our trailer and the tight squeeze is the only thing that I would change if we could. (I understand the physics and reasoning of the layout as it sits.l)

Unless you need the bunks, I would be looking at the 24RLS or 24RKS both are around 28' and have two doors so the bed and bath are accessible with the slide in. I have a 25RDS that is 31' and we can even get to the kitchen with the slide in.

At 28' 8" the 24RLS/24RKS are just a wee bit too long for the space we have available for storage, though I am inclined to measure again just to be certain. The bunks would actually work fine for us so I'm checking with the dealer to see if they have any showing up in the near future. Thanks for all the feedback so far - much appreciated..

I have a 2017 for sale, if you are interested. In fantastic shape, always garaged. Let me know via private message if you want more information. I’m in Oregon, between Portland and Salem.

Well, we've had some decent weather the last couple of days so I did some more careful and detailed measuring of the storage area.

It comes down to a tree. If we remove one tree that protrudes into the area alongside the house where we can store the trailer then we should be able to squeeze in something slightly larger than 28'. It looks the there will be a 23DBS available in the near future that we can look at and I think they already have either the 24RLS or 24RKS as well, though the RLS wouldn't work as it doesn't have a full tub.

15 minutes after my wife walked into a 24 rks she gave the nod to go ahead. The storage is fabulous for a 3 adult member family for 1-4 month trips...

We spent some time inside a 23KTS which is very similar floor plan. Really liked that one until we saw the issue with the slide and the bathroom/bed access. We do feel confident that once we remove the one tree we'll have enough room for slightly over 28' so we've put the 24RKS at the top of the list now that we have a TV that is capable of yanking it down the road.

My wife calls the storage of the 24 rks "Smart Storage". Just the right amount of space at every section of the RV. That was one of the deal kills of any RV we looked at over 18 months. When closed can all parts of the RV be used (kitchen, frig, bed and bathroom).

Timber Ridge 24rks gallery.

I live in the city, so with the X4 suspension, I just back her in over the curb now...I did have to raise my power line 2', because the ORV is 18" taller than our old Aerolite trailer.

Sorry I never answered your original question. On the 23dbs it is difficult but not impossible to access the bathroom with the slide in. It helps if you are skinny as you have to slip between the end of the dinette seat and the end of the countertop. Doable but much easier if you slide the slideout out 2-4”.
