AF owner needs help
I figured you all would know best so here goes.
I have a Arctic Fox 22H and just set up today in the mountains for eleven days of elk hunting. The temps are down to the mid thirties and my furnace isn't working. When I turn the thermostat on the furnace fan turns on for about a 30 seconds and then shuts off. I don't hear any igniter. I'm full with propane and the fridge, stove, HW heater works on gas. My batteries are at 12.6 volts and I also tried the furnace when running the generator. The fuse for the furnace is good. I've checked this with a multimeter.
What doesn't make sense is yesterday I ran the furnace at home when testing everything and it worked fine.
Any ideas of what I can do for a fix?

You've gone thought the same check list I would.
Battery YES
Propane YES
Fridge and HW tank working YES
Thermostat YES
Check the outside the intake/exhaust are clear.
You'll have to pull out the heater out for these
1.) Propane jet/orifice is clean
2.) Heater fan is not dirty/plugged.
3.) Heater sail/micro switch is working (ohm meter)
4.) Ignitor isn't worn/looks clean
5.) Send the circuit board to be tested or buy another one

I appreciate the reply. It sucks to have to remove the furnace to check that. Not exactly what I wish to do in the middle of the Forrest.
Just out of curiosity, my trailer is level side to side but my iPhone says I'm 1 degree high in the front due to the slope I'm on. Any chance this would have an effect before pulling the furnace?

I don't think so.....level is more of a factor with the older refrigerators and keeping the slides from twisting....but.....you could level the trailer according to the iPhone and see what happens.
Does the iPhone show the same thing if you flip it around.
With the heater out the worst case is you take it in for service....not the whole trailer.
If you haven't removed the heater before it should come out through the air intake grill......under the fridge.
Don't forget to turn the propane off first.

Is it an Atwood furnace? I had the same issue on a trip to Colorado in December last year. Temps were below freezing and moisture had gotten into the sail switch and froze it up. I would suggest checking your sail switch. Once the blower kicks on, the sail switch moves as airflow passes across it forcing the contact to close and the burner to fire. Good luck with your troubleshooting!

I had the same trailer, really great except the bed wasn't walk around.
I suspect danboracer is correct. The sail switch tells the ignitor the blower is working. If the switch doesn't move then the ignitor won't fire.

Thanks for the help. I'll remove the furnace in the morning and check the sail switch. Luckily I brought a multimeter in my toolbag. Tonight I'm using a buddyheater that runs in those little green bottles. Thankfully I brought it as a backup. I guess the military taught me to be redundant.

Another possibility is your gas regulator. The furnace needs lots of gas. Other gas appliances may work while the furnace will not if the regulator is shot.
Similar thing happened to me a couple of years ago in cold weather. Noticed the range flame seemed yellowish, and the furnace would start up then stop. First it would ignite then stop. After awhile it wouldn't even ignite.
After pulling the furnace and declaring it OK, the repair guys checked the pressure at the range and found it low. Guess they should've done that first. Anyway, a new regulator at the tanks fixed it.

Brulaz has a point too. Try turning on all the burners of your stove and make sure the flame is pretty much blue. If there is a lot of orange then it could mean you have limited gas flow. I personally haven't ever had a regulator issue but have heard it happens. I can't remember if you said your gas tanks are full but that can exacerbate the issue as they get close to empty.

Okay, my buddy heater got me through the night. Today I removed the intake vent and jiggled the wires at the same time I turned the furnace on. It now works. I must have a loose connection and the bumpy Forrest road didn't help. Once home I'll pull the furnace and check everything.

Great to hear you got it fixed. As a fellow hunter about to depart for a late season deer hunt in Montana, I was feeling your frustration. This will be my first year hunting out of a trailer in cold weather. I hope I don't regret not having my canvas tent and trouble free wood stove. Good luck on your hunt.

And to you too! Last year I endured 5 degree nights in a pop up truck camper. I'm going to enjoy the AF a lot more this year. This camper is solid in cold weather.

If it's an atwood and it happens again, the control board has an led on it that will blink the trouble code. You should be able to read it with the door off if you have a door model. The newer furnaces are designed to fully service without removing them.

Today I returned home and removed the furnace. I checked all connections and they were tight. I removed and reinstalled the wires to the sail switch. This might have created a better connection. I then used the Suburban manual and tested the yellow and blue wire to the circuit board and it gets 12 volts. I then tested the sail switch and it too received 12 volts. Nothing seemed out of place. Put it all back together and it now works.
