Auto antifreeze in sink and shower drains?
I'm planning on blowing out my water lines in my travel trailer and pouring antifreeze down the sink and shower drains to winterize them. Can I use auto antifreeze or do I have to use the pink stuff? Will auto antifreeze damage the drain plumbing? Thanks!

Use the pink stuff it is cheaper and meant for water systems.

Pink stuff. The auto anti is very toxic.

If you ever intend to drink from it again use the pink stuff.

The OP is asking about which antifreeze to put down the DRAINS.

Why have one more thing to add? You'll have plenty of leftover pink stuff when you're done, just use it.

Lori, the question was about what antifreeze to put in the drains after the water lines are blown out with air.

Yeah, & I answered it by telling them to use the pink stuff.

I see. I guess I was having a hard time understanding where the leftover pink stuff was coming from when none was used in the water lines. Cheers.

RV antifreeze
Walmart sells their own brand of pink antifreeze. It is the same ingredient as name brand only cheaper. Pink antifreeze is good for two years as per our RV dealer.

Thanks for your responses. Just to reiterate... I am blowing out the water lines with compressed air and draining the hot water tank. I do not have any pink antifreeze but I do have some automotive antifreeze. I want to put it down the drains, not in the water lines. Therefore, I am not concerned about it being toxic. I only need to know it it will damage the drain plumbing. Thanks!
