Back up camera help?

I know the dang blasted thing works they showed us when we had our PDI.....
Trouble is neither one of us can figure it out and the guy who showed us quit the dealer. I'd appreciate any help making it work since the instructions are above our IQ and don't seem to be written so we can make it happen.

Now we have a Dodge truck if that makes any difference.......... I know it's something really dumb on my part. Thanks for any help!

Just a couple of quick things to check:

-Make sure the trailer lights are on as the camera draws power from them.

-Make sure the truck mounted display has the correct video feed selected. There are two, video 1 and video 2. I think the camera by default should be video 1. There's a button to change the video, try selecting that to change the video input.

We have the same camera unit on our GP, and we didn't need to configure it. It just connects automatically once powered on.

Hope this helps...

Many times the instructions were written in Chinese , translated into Swahili, then to French then to English; to say they loose something in the translation is an understatement.

Could you post the brand and model of the system.

EDIT: I see Stuart posted while I was away typing.

On ours it's the Voyager (WVOS541) kit . I think ORV uses the same model across the different lines.

Yep, your driving lights need to be on so the trailer lights are also on. You also need to have the correct camera selected on the display. I'd check in that order.

Thanks guys I'll give those suggestions a try and My bad I should have told you it's a Voyager WVOM513AP but I figured that ORV was only using one unit in their models. I'll report back I'm sure it's the lights (DUH) but I figured they had it wired into the backup lights since they had it while we were inside working on things. Thanks again and I'll let you know how it works out.

OK we have success!!! It works!! We mainly drive in daylight so turning on the lights never crossed my mind and the pairing instructions on the screen was driving us nuts. Thanks again to all of you for your help.
