Best route Sisters OR to Mt Saint Helens

We're going to the quilting show in Sisters this weekend and then up to Mt Saint Helens. Do you guys have any thoughts on Rte 26 vs. Rte 20 over to I-5? I'm looking for any easier pull over the Cascades and not so much the scenery. Thanks

20. 26 goes through cities east of the Portland area that can really slow you down. 20 almost spits you out right onto the freeway with the only big town of Lebanon to go through. Sweet Home isn't a big deal to go through.

Ended up taking Rte 26 around Mt Hood. Not too bad a climb. Was some traffic at the west end, but Google got us to I84 pretty quickly
