Black Water dump handle came loose.
Just back from a short 2 day camping trip. Went to dump, set up the hose, reached for the black water dump handle, pulled and it just flopped around. No effluent released. Felt like it was disconnected.
What is the best way to re-attache the handle to the black water valve if that is what the problem is? Bought the unit in Oct. 2016.

In the standard valve , the shaft is threaded then glued into the sliding gate , if your lucky and patient , you can line the shaft back up with the threaded hole in the gate valve and screw it back in to operate .
If not ; and I hate to say this ; you're in deep { self edit } .
Setting up to catch the contents and removing the valve is one way , or contacting a septic tank company to see if they can get the "stuff " out of the tank through the toilet, prior to valve replacement would help.

My freshwater dump handle came loose on my way to the ORV campout the guys helped me out and made the repair for me, (thanks Kevin)" .
The fix only takes a couple minutes. If you look in the area of the valves there is an access panel. Unscrew it and if you are lucky all you have to do is screw the handle back in. Might need pliers or such to hold the coupler so you can get it tight.
Be sure to have the slinky attached to prevent any unwanted baths.

The grey water handle on my 2013 Wind River split in the middle and pulled off. I was surprised to see that it was simply a "push on" handle that goes onto a knurled shaft. I also lost the handle to the galley water tank, but it was a screw on handle. Not sure why they aren't all the same. I was able to find a replacement screw on handle but still haven't located a "push on" handle. Have checked Camping World and 2 of the bigger RV stores in Tri-Cities. Anybody know of a source for this?

Update:
Should have listened to keymastr. First , I tried to thread the handle shaft to the male threaded bolt that is attached to the valve. No luck. Next,I removed 2 rivets holding up the corplast near the handle and looked inside. The handle shaft is maybe 2-3ft long which is about the area where the access panel is below the the grey/black valves. Removed the corplast panel, cut 3 sides of the silver coated plastic foam insulation and reached in, grabbed the female end of the handle shaft and threaded it onto the male bolt attached to the valve. Tested it briefly to see that it worked, ran duct tape over the 3 sides of the cut foam insulation, ran a bead of caulking around the perimiter of the corplast, screwed it back, then after laying a bead of caulking along the bottom of the main trailer rails, re- pop riveted the corplast by the handle. Easy Peasy.

Dave ; sorry if I miss led you in any way , I though that the shaft in question was the one in the valve housing , I didn't realize that your RV used extensions on that shaft to a remote handle.
