Ceiling issues

Our 2016 Windriver ceiling coating is pealing/pincking in multiple places.
Some along the seam molding, some around corners. (basically anyplace where anything is touching it.)

We've submitted for warranty work, we will see how much they cover.

Question, did you special order this unit or pick it off the lot?

I can answer this one, I'm Natebert's DW.

We special ordered it. We even visited it at the factory during construction...

and I can answer about the PDI, a lot of things developed after we took delivery, however, while we felt we were VERY thorough with the PDI.. some things you just... overlook I guess until you stay in it.

I agree with the overlooking stuff that you would expect to be done correctly in a unit of this price point.

What does ORV have to say about all these issues?

How'd I guess that? It seems that special order trailers don't get the same care as a standard build. I have special ordered three trailers in the past and all had mild to severe problems. I picked a creek side off the lot for this reason. I went over it with a fine tooth comb and if it wasn't up to my standards I would have gone to another lot until I found one. No more special orders for me unless it's a Prevost.

This is not an issue that ORV has caused during the build. The supplier of the panels did not put enough glue on the panel. I have the same issue where the snap strips go across the ceiling. I have located a place that makes wooden window blinds and can buy just the slats for the blinds already painted white and they are wide enough to cover the messed up seam area. I just pull out the snap strip and cover that area with the wooden blind material. I haven't done it yet but will do it before the rally. Sometimes you have to think outside the box for the best fix.

I'll add that the ceiling panel vinyl covering (or whatever it is) issue is pretty common in the RV industry. wide temperature swings that an RV interior encounters don't help the situation. It's not something that can be fixed easily in the corners.

I think I'll just not look up while in the trailer. Much easier than the fix. The RV industry buys their ceilings from the same people.

I have an older trailer with same issue. Thinking about just trimming off excess and painting the panel underneath. Just need to find a close textured paint color. Anybody try that?

When I dropped off the trailer at the factory, I was given the impression that there is no 'fix', but that they would do what they can.

The `warranty` work described was going to simply install wider trim strips between the panels and ignore all of the other places where the issue occurs. :( But we will see.

I'll be sure to post pictures of all of the 'repairs' that were performed once I receive the unit back.

I think that's either caused by expansion/contraction or movement.
It may not be the end of it unfortunately.

Odd that we haven't seen any of this in our Timber Ridge.
Perhaps a bad batch of ceiling panels from the factory?
Or perhaps because we've never stored in really excessive heat:
Ontario in the summer, Florida in the winter

This is what I suspect too and thought that it should all be covered by warranty.

Still waiting to see how far they can correct it.
