Century Plastics 4 battery box and 2018 24RKS
Folks, I have searched this and found some answers for older units. But I want to confirm if the off grid battery tray and the GC2-4 Century Plastics battery box fits on the 2018 Timber Ridge 24RKS. I live in Canada and would order the box from Century in BC but I am wondering what ORV charges for the box. It might make more sense to order from the factory. The tray is on back order but I need to order the box soon. Thanks for your help.

The dealer is installing the tray on my 24RKS, and told me that they stock the Century plastics box. I haven’t actually seen any of this. Hopefully I can take possession next week.

Battery Box
Thanks Tom. My dealer found a box in Edmonton and has ordered that in so I am OK on that front. I have to wait to see the delivery time on the tray.

Who did you order the tray from?

Parkview RV in Wetaskwin. They ordered it from ORV, sounds like they switched suppliers from Torklift to MorRide and ORV are waiting for the first stock to arrive.

Great, thanks for the reply. I'll have a look. I was just going to make a tray, but if I can get it for a reasonable price I'll order it and I can get the box at a local battery dealer.

If this photo actually shows up, it might help you with pricing. It shows the battery tray as a $184 option from ORV. It’s from one of the build sheets I was sent when I was shopping around. My dealer listed it on my offer for $125.

So then the dealer welds the new tray on?
Do they have to remove the old 2 battery tray first?

That is a great price if you have the welding skills and equipment. They quoted me $500 installed. They have to cut the 2 battery tray out and weld in the new one so I think it is fair price. They also take the responsibility on my frame warranty. That’s worth the peace of mind.

Not completely relevant to your post, however I have a Century Plastics battery box for my two 6v batteries on my TT. I can say it is a fine box. If I ever reconfigure things for more batteries, I will buy another box from Century.

Thanks that is great to know the boxes are built well. All I have to figure out now is how to lock the batteries. I found a product called battery shackles but it looks like it is made for 2 6volts. I had a fabricator that built my skids and sliders for my 4Runner I might look him up again,

The pictures I've seen of the ORV battery tray for 4 GC2s in a Century box show a locking bar across the top.
I don't have that but got a wire cable lock after one of our batteries was stolen while in storage. The ORV locking bar seems more secure though.

I use that and just cut off the cross bar. It fits without any issues.

For $125 I would think it would be more than a couple steel bars. I guess it would slow them down 30 or 40 seconds though. Might be enough to make the thief pick a different battery.
