I'm not saying the time change isn't somewhat disrupting, but consider this;
Most of us have had to endure lead based paint on our cribs, the gasoline crisis in the 70's, falling down and just rubbing dirt on the wound to stop the bleeding, and most importantly---no TPMS in our vehicle tires!!! Egads! How did we make it?
I look at the chance to dust off the clocks, change smoke alarm batteries, and reread the vehicle owners manual to change the time. Gotta fill the retired time somehow. Right??

I was out there a few years ago on the bike, and my phone time kept changing. I guess that's why.
Thanks for the explanation.

I haven't seen a huge commuter city yet where anyone has to drive in the dark. I thought that was what street lights were for. How do they get around at midnight?
The extra daylight is nice in the summertime when one comes home from work and wants to do some lawn work, gardening or just sit out and enjoy the surroundings around them.

Welcome to Dallas Fort Worth where in the first month of Daylight savings time the sun hasn't risen by 7am. Yes people can drive in the dark, but the first week of daylight savings time you have 3 million people on crowded freeways at the same time who have lost an hour of sleep driving in darkness that they did not gradually get used to.

So if you're retired, why does Daylight Savings time matter to you? You're on your own clock.
And just because you waited in gas lines doesn't mean a silly practice has to continue.
Texas is gradually considering going on Texas time and switching to Standard time permanently. https://www.texastribune.org/2019/04...-saving-texas/

Excuse me, They probably can't handle driving home in the dark well either, like they have to do now with standard time. That had to be a shock.

The fall back is bad for the evening. The spring forward is worse for the morning.
Maybe the early birds and night owls can do their own thing without an arbitrary change that causes more trouble than it is worth.
Maybe you can also tell me why we have time zones with "Standard" at only 4.5 months of the year.

You make a good point. Majority rules. Go with daylight savings time and leave it there 365 1/4.

I enjoyed it when I worked because no matter what clock-time I got off it gave me an additional hour of daylight after work to do yard work or other stuff where daylight was helpful. That opened the weekends for fun stuff.
It doesn't matter that it's dark when I get up. I'd be happy just to leave it DST all the time.

Most of the time I don’t know what day it is, I’m just happy I remember to put pants on so it really does not bother me about time changes, I don’t bother changing the clock in my car (don’t know how lol)
I really enjoy being retired

x2. When I worked I left in the dark and came home in the dark. Made for really depressing winters.
Retired now and it doesn't matter other than the few days to adjust.
