Do you use a star wrench or a deep socket for lug nuts?

And do you use those fancy plastic socket liners that prevent scratching the wheels and where do you get them? I think I am leaning towards a deep socket on a breaker bar. What do you think?

Curious as to which air compressor you carry to use an impact wrench?

Thank you. What are you doing UP so early, LOL.
I always wake up early and at different times. Could be 2am, 3am, and so on. I'm used to it now, I think.

Always up early. Retired but the habit is hard to break. Couple cups of coffee and ready to go. I carry a generator also. Only changed one trailer tire but use it alot around the S&B. Helped a few others on the side of the road.

Yeah, I'm retired now, a year ago last October. Nice to hear you help people along the road broke down etc. I do also. Makes one feel really good inside. Besides, I've been there a few times
It's a little after 3 AM here now and I've been up for a half hour or so. I'm about ready to warm up some coffee. One thing about retirement, we can take a nap most any time.
Nice chatting with you, Have a Great Day.

OOPS. I use a breaker bar and socket when I need to. I'm setting myself up to do the same on the MH.

Good luck with that. Look into a torque multiplier for the breaker bar. Time for that 2nd cup now. Lol

This battery powered impact gun will remove the lugs on a 22.5 wheel with little effort. Be sure to use a torque wrench when installing.

Enjoy that 2nd cup Birddog.
Country, for the price of that Dewalt I can buy a rear trac bar that I want.
My MH wheels are 19.5 which I believe need to be torqued to 150 ft lbs. I have a wrench for that. The 22.5's are torqued at 450ft lbs. Big difference.
I have a cheater bar( sometimes called a Swede, in these parts) that I carry. I already have a bottle jack, I just need to make sure I have the right sockets for the MH.
I have changed a front tire in a big rig manually. Was NOT fun, but I did it.
Hmm. I was a LOT younger then though, lol. Maybe I can get DW to help if I need it, OR, call AAA. I have a spare tire, just need another rim.
Ok guys, thanks for your replies, appreciate it. ENJOY your coffee.

For the prices your paying and the effort to change a 22.5 plus the cheater bars, torque wrenches I'm thinking a good roadside service policy. Plus for about $250 you can buy a welder and build a track bar. That's the way I roll.

I use a Dewalt 1/2" drive battery impact with an impact socket. I also use a 160 ft lb torque stick for the truck (Dually) and a 140 ft lb stick for the trailer.

I'm not a welder or a fabricator, wish I was. At this stage of my life, I do what I can. Me and the Swede work well together, lol.

I use the same. I carry a 12v compressor for airing tires and air bags. I did the 120 volt compressor for one year. In the time it takes to get the generator, cords and hoses out and put away I can have the tire changed with the Dewalt.
