The question is directed at ModestMonk for his follow statement:

“Varying the location would help protect the venture from "Lock Out". I was surprised to read that the western rally is held at three different campgrounds all in the relative same area. That some attendees at the other campgrounds were't informed of common events. Sites appear to be locked out to the same members year to year.”
The following was the original quote, you omitted part of it.

We have a HUGE campground with many open areas in close proximity to serviced sites that would avail a chance for everyone to camp together. Located in the Thousand Islands:

WELLESLEY STATE PARK
There’s no reference to being done intentionally, just a comment on posts by current and prospective attendees from past years threads. Based on their frustrations, I was suggesting we look for campgrounds with large common areas that are immediately adjacent to serviced sites.

About time for an update. I don't know about everyone else but this spring as been terrible as far as the weather goes here in Northern Ohio. Rain Rain Rain....We leave for a week to Southwestern PA. (Laurel Hill State Park) in two weeks and Kennywood...better stop raining by then.

Looking over our rally family arrival dates most of you will be there by Thursday. Maybe we'll have the "UN-Offical" meet & greet Thursday evening, and the Official meet & greet / pot-lock / fireside chat? Friday evening...Maybe do a group lunch or dinner at the Farmers Inn on Saturday just up the river towards Clear Creek State Park. I would like to get a rough headcount if we decide on the Farmers Inn. Like ourselves we have one kid, I know Kevin and Jen have two........

***** RALLY UPDATE *****

We have reached 11 families

As of May 15th here is the campsite list:

~ Site # 46 Reynolds2 Thur. July 19 thru Mon. the 23rd (pet loop)

~ Site # 78 Santana Thur July 19 thru Mon. the 23rd (pet loop)

~ Site # 82 ModestMonk Thur. July 19th thru Mon. the 23rd (pet loop)

~ Site # 128 Kevin & Jen Tue. July 17th thru Sun. the 22nd (non-pet loop)

~ Site # 129 Superslif Sun. July 15 thru Sun. the 22nd (non-pet loop)

~ Site # 130 mamabuchu Thur. July 19th thru Mon the 23rd (non-pet loop)

~ Site # 131 Cornbinder Thur. July 19 thru Sun. the 22nd (non-pet loop)

~ Site # 136 2OLDDIGGERS Fri. July 20th thru Sun. the 22nd. (non-pet loop)

~ Site # 138 Hikermom 718 Thur July 19th thru Sun. the 22nd (non-pet loop)

~ Site # 141 R. Tally (non-pet loop) Thur 19th thru Mon the 23rd.

~ Site # 144 Brett H. (non-pet loop) Thur July 19th thru Mon. the 23rd

** AS OF Tue. May 15th **

Still plenty of good sites left. In the "pet loop" full service site 79 is available (July 20-22). Electric only in the "pet loop" are sites 48 and 83.

In the "non-pet loop" you have the following electric sites available (July 20-22) 133, 139, 143, 145, 146, 147, 148, 149 and 150. And one full service site #127

** It seems like many people attending are staying longer than the weekend, as we are arriving there on the Sunday before. So when your doing your reservation there is a date calendar that will show which sites are available for more than the two weekend nights. Here is a link to the Pennsylvania State Park home page.

We’re in for the head count, just 2. The oldest Granddaughter was coming but my daughter wants to get back to work on weekends, so the Son in law needs the 10 year old to ‘help’ him with the one year old.

We’ll have been out for well over a month when we arrive. I’ll stay in touch and will be glad to help any way we can.

One of my ideas was a dinner or lunch at the Farmers Inn Restaurant, on Saturday. But, unknown to me it burnt down last Memorial Day Weekend (pictures) . But, they have rebuilt, and reopened April 20th. T

Talking to just the Hostess, Saturday's are very busy, and the configuration of the seating in the new restaurant is different. She said I need to talk to the owner to see what my options are for a group of about 25-30 people. So as soon as I talk to her, we'll get a better idea of what options we have.

** 2OLDDIGGERS ** Since it looks like you are the only one's arriving on Friday, do you know what time of day you will be pulling into the park?

OK that gives us options.

I talked to the owner of the Farmers Inn and she reiterated "Saturday's Are Very Busy". And the fact that they don't do reservations. She said her suggestion would be a early dinner on Friday. If your group arrived at 5:00, gave the hostess a number (head count) they would get us into one section of the restaurant. I believe seating capacity is 180.

Our other option is a late lunch on Friday say 1:00 to try to accommodate all our families.

So my question: what is everyone's feeling about a 5:00 / 5:30 dinner on Friday?

Option #2 a 1:00 lunch on Friday

Then on Saturday we can do a "Pot Luck" dinner at one of our campsites...
