I ended up negotiating the shank as part of the deal with the trailer so I didn't have to worry about buying the wrong one. The dealership ordered the standard length and thinks it will work. The trailer was due at the dealership yesterday, I should be picking up tomorrow or Friday. I'll report back if the standard length works.

I just set up my Equal-I-zer with standard length shank and I can just barely open the tailgate completely. It's so close to hitting the coupler that I'll have to make sure my coupler lock is facing down so I don't dent the tailgate. The electric jack is close too but not that close to be a problem.

Get it home with what ya got then fine tune it after you know what you need. Not being able to lower the tailgate would be a pain but you don't want a longer shank that needed as it won't help towing.
