Cool Fibreglass Blustering

Has anyone had their RV trailer's Fibreglass siding get a blister effect, and do you know if your RV insurance covers this type of damage. I live in Manitoba, Canada. My RV is a Fifth Wheel 2004 Topaz Triple e 27.5ft.

If the damage wasn't caused by a collision or other accident, I'd be surprised if insurance would cover that damage. On a boat hull, if water is trapped under the gel coat you get that same kind of blistering. The blistering is ground out, filled, and painted. That wouldn't work of the side of an RV, it's much thinner material than a laid up boat hull.

That is most likely caused by foreign matter in the fiberglass when the sides were made. Could have been water. In boats it is usually caused by water penetrating the gel coat and then reacting with the chemicals in the layup. This is usually below the waterline where water has a long time to penetrate. Yours probably happened during the manufacturing process. I would push back on the manufacturer of your RV.
