-They have only had one issue to report and are just being cautious
-They will pay fuel, hotel etc or have it picked up by a transporter
-approx 8 hours to loosen the cap and make modifications. Cap does not have to come off

Looks like it only affects the longer units. If they are paying for fuel, make a mini vacation out of it.

I was thinking about the mini excursion but keep coming back to just having it picked up but I also hear negative stories of transporters pulling these trailers at 85 mph and just bouncing them all over the place in transport. Leaning toward having it picked up and having the new lighter cap installed at the same time.

I feel the same and I am struggling with thought of having a transporter pull it for a 13 hour trip.

Thanks for the post Wood Chip. Looks like ours isn't included but have sent a e-mail to ORV just to make sure. What others have said I would be hesitant to let someone else pull our trailer. I don't even like anybody even touching my truck. Make a mini vacation out of it. Beautiful country up there.

A problem with one trailer and they are recalling 140....doesn't make any sense.

A few weeks ago I looked at a used 34' 2015 GP that was only used for 1 year. The inside looked like it was brand new but on the outside there was:
- Separation on at the radius corner where it meet the front/bottom that the pin box is bolted to.
- Separation along the side over the axles.
- The roof replaced 3'-4' back from the front cap. I was told that it is common on 5ths with frame flex.

I just bought a 30' flat deck gooseneck trailer with a 15,000lb GVRW. Industry standard for these is a 12" I beam @ 19lbs/ft.

Artic Fox over 30' use 12" Ibeam @ 12lbs/ft

All GP have 10" I beam @ 10lbs/ft.

Our 32' Timber Ridge has 8" I beam @ 6.5lbs/ft. The shower stall has separated from the sidewall. I stopped filling the water tank before leaving on a trip and after each trip I check the fiberglass sidewalls for cracks.

Just wondering because I have looked all over the ORV on line and the printed info and I have never seen that much detail. Have you been able to find the info on the ORV and Northwood frames for the TT's. They are said to be the same.

As trailers grow in length so do all the leverage points. Add in the stiff suspension of the big trucks needed to haul these behemoths and voila....weak points get exposed rapidly. Turn the situation around to where they are built super strong, and they get expensive and require a truck bigger than most people want.

Yes, more steel=more money. But if less steel causes a damaged trailer you got nothing but problems. That's where the engineering and design departments earn their worth.

Don't own a GP,however, is the recall for those shipped to Canada as well? Given the CSA approval for the Canadian Market.
I wonder if the sister company Arctic Fox has a recall on their 5th wheel units as well.
I think if their is a potential for a failure with likelyhood of an accident. Then both ( Canada and USA) respective government agencies should be notified. I guess this is voluntary manufacturing recall not a mandatory one....just doing the due diligence thing.
Also an interesting thing is that company is going right to the repair phase instead of getting a non destructive test done. I wonder why it's not done by the dealer?
It's a PIA for those who own one. Good luck all and stay safe.
Remember...a trailer is a trailer is a trailer no matter how you slice it or dice it.

Is it to be flat towed (pulled) or put on a flat deck trailer and hauled by a transporter and returned?
