This is the best and cheapest mod I have ever put on my Timber Ridge. I put a 1/2"X 2" strip of reflective tape on the front of my trailer coupler. Using my backup camera (mounted on the license plate) I can now easily see where the coupler is when backing my TV to the trailer. Didn't under or over shoot the coupler all summer.

Black and grey tank handles
Labour Day weekend this year was very cold, windy and wet here but I still wanted to go camping. That weekend normally is our last weekend out and I like to do a good job of cleaning the Timber Ridge. We take a site close to the campground bathrooms and use them while filling our toilet with our hot soapy dish water. Driving home does a great job of swishing that water around and I'll dump it when I get back to the city. Well, my best laid out plan was foiled this year because when I pulled on the black tank handle nothing happened other than I had the whole thing unhooked from the trailer. A trip to the repair shop got that repaired and I'll be tightening the grey tank handle in the spring. I noticed another post on here describing the same thing on their trailer so this maybe a hint to go out and check your handles.

They just screw in, right?
I know some use cables, but I don't think mine do.

I think you are right Brulaz, not sure whether you turn it clockwise or counter clockwise to tighten it. Anyone know? I'm not sure I want to shell out another $125.00 to put it back in again (can't imagine the repair shop using Locktight to stop it from happening again).

I would really like an answer to this before I go to tackle it a little later today.

Well mine don't just screw in. All the handles and shafts freely rotate.
Somehow they are fixed to the valve, but dunno how.

I guess I'll have to pull the sheet off the bottom and see what I find. I was hoping to try to avoid doing that.

Fuse Panel and Directv
Finally went through my DC fuse panel to see what circuits they protected. I wanted to do this first before I added two circuits for my directv receiver and SWM amp. Got lucky and fuse #5 was not loaded, so I ran both circuits through that fuse.
The directv receiver circuit was easy, because the unit runs off 12 vdc anyway (well, sort of, runs off an AC plug to a 12 vdc DC converter at 2 amps output), but the SWM was not so easy. Bought a $20 100W cigarette lighter modified sine wave inverter and hooked it up to a 12 vdc cigarette jack, also added a toggle switch because the SWM does not shut down like the receiver. Hooked it up and now I have directv on totally dc power!!

When my repair shop fixed my black tank rod they just cut a small square (about 10") right where the connection is made. They made the repair then taped the square back into place. Good luck with your repair.

I'm going to take a good long time looking through the hole first, but I'm not sure I'd be confident and happy about taping up a hole. I don't know what tape I'd use to make as permanent a bond as possible. I'm not saying the shop didn't use good stuff, I'm only saying I wouldn't know what to use.

I have included a picture from my Factory tour. They are for a 23RKS Creekside. First Picture is Grey and Black tanks. 2nd is for the kitchen grey tank. I would imagine others would be similar. Wish I had done some close ups. There is always next year.

Many thanks for that.
Looks a lot like the Valterra extension handle kits I've seen.
Waste Valve Extension Rod Kit, 10″ to 12″, Carded - Valterra.com | Valterra.com
A tube with set screws at each end is used to join the extension to the regular pull. Can't tell if ORV is using something with set screws but there's definitely a tube join there.
Not sure which joint my handles rotate around though or whether that's normal or not.

The extension rods do screw together clockwise. We have recently started using locktite at the connections. Ours do not use the coupler shown on the Valtera kit.
