Locking Large battery Box?

I have installed the plastic 4-6volt battery box with batteries and new cables. I am now looking for a clean and effective way of locking the lid to keep anyone from messing with it. I just have the box sitting in there, I figure with over 200lbs of battery weight, its not going anywhere—Thanks.

I bought a fancy cable with built in lock, and wrapped it around the box. But now the lock is slipping, so think I'll replace it with chain and a padlock.

This is what I did. I modified a product called “Battery Shackle” so it would fit around the box.

I built a system similar to R.B. The top metal bar is about 2.5 inches wide and fits in the plastic groove going from side o side. Then each side has a matching piece of steel bar going down to where it connects to gate hardware and a padlock on each side. The locks are down between the frame rails and sort of out of sight.
The box and all steel parts are painted black bed liner and looks pretty nice.
One last thing; I placed screen across the unused openings to keep hornets out.

I had some scrap steel laying around from other projects and whipped up this quick locking cross bar. Didn't have time to make it pretty but it does it's job.
The vertical tubing that runs down to the battery box platform go through holes and have holes in them as well.
I use two padlocks at the bottom of each vertical tubing.
It's quick, crude and simple.

You guys came up with some nice clean solutions for this. I don’t have access to welding and I am just trying to keep honest people away. I found some coated white 3/8” chain at Lowes and I attached with stainless eyes. One eye with double threads where the end of the chain goes and the other side a single stud eye where the lock goes through and ties into the chain. This simple set up will keep the lid tight and keep prying eyes off my prized possession of 4/0 wires! Oh, I used red lock tight on the threads as well, so it will prove difficult to remove them, it would take bolt cutters

Where did you all source that 4 x 6v battery box? My dealer installed 4 separate NOCO boxes and its less than ideal. I'd like to do something similar with one box for all 4 6v batteries (Trojan T-105).

Thanks!

Brian

Century Battery Boxes are made near Vancouver BC (Canada).
I ordered mine from the factory.

But in the States, try these guys: https://allbatterysalesandservice.co...atteries-gcq-g

So I did this for at least a temporary solution. Eventually I want to get back to my fabrication guy to make something more like what the others have shown you. This is a metal reinforced, locking strap for kayaks. Able to pass it through the stock tabs on the ends.

Can you provide a source for the locking Kayak strap?

What length strap did you buy to go around the battery box? Looks like there are 8, 11, 13 and foot lengths. Thanks!

I used the 8 ft and there was at least a foot to spare.
