Thompson RV in Pendleton, Oregon. Negotiated everything including partial financing with Corrine from 3000 miles away (CT), and they posted YT videos of the walk-around and accommodated our "unique" driver/transporter who we hired via U-Ship. Price was by far the best of a half-dozen other western dealers. Always a quick response to emails and calls.

LOL, yeah Burt and I were talking about your "interesting" uship driver yesterday lol... it was one of your posts that turned me onto Uship in the first place.

I have a quote for $2050 from a uship driver and 3050 from a Thomspon recommended driver.

That's awesome on the videos. I had thought about asking if they could just video the really important stuff.

That uship driver must be legendary: he came up in my conversation with Corrin when she called to tell me my trailer was ready.

Were TV cameras involved?

The gent is Dave Hontz of Centurion Response Team in PA. He actually uses an uprated E350 fully decked out for life on the road. He is certainly a character and a storyteller ... 30+ years as a long-distance trucker before he retired. Truckers spend a lot of time alone and when they get a chance to talk, they talk (and since I work alone myself, I enjoy such personalities). Now he does the U Ship thing.

Dave's price ($2200) was $1800 less than the dealer's contact out in OR. Of course, the difference is that Dave gets loads for both ways while the OR transporter goes home empty.

Leading bid on mine right now is a horse transporter out of OKC...right at $1000 less than the bid from Thompson RV. He evidently moves horses around on the west coast all the time so he wouldn't have to come home empty. That's right at $1/mi one way which is probably what it would cost to drive my truck up there...and 3600 miles I don't have to put on my truck and a week I don't have to spend away from the wife and kids.

That's so interesting actually.

Well, I suppose it depends heavily on the route your rv is going to take as to which uship drivers are going to be interested in bidding.

I'm having a hard time feel trust for someone carrying my high dollar rig across country... I'm leaning that the Thompson driver is recommended and therefore more trustworthy, and I'm sure the dealer gets a kick, but hey, they have the relationship so I'm ok with this.

It causes me a lot of stress trying to figure this out. But after all the money involved, whats an extra grand for peace of mind...

I ordered a Timber Ridge 24RKS Titanium Series from Niels RV in North Hills, CA last November. It was $1,500 less than Thompson RV's offer and was only 70 miles from my home. I had planned to drive to Oregon to pick up the trailer to save the shipping ($1,600) but buying local saved me a lot more. Niels was very good to work with and I would recommend them to anyone purchasing an Outdoor RV product.

ORV dealer recommendations

Well I'm not in a hurry since I'm camped out in a crappy hotel in Lamesa, TX through the end of the month so I'll give you dibs [emoji3]

EDIT: actually, I just got this bid for $1700. Ping him on uship if you'd like a bid. I'm really not in that kind of hurry.

This is the guy that needs to get back to Fort Worth:
https://www.uship.com/profile/SemperFifw/

The interface *is* a bit clunky.

This fella was a little higher priced but seems really interested in working.
https://www.uship.com/profile/Tuffs2010/

Overall the process has been pretty straightforward to this point.
