I would think you could remove it..I never did. I would be afraid you couldn't reinstall it, as the bolt disappears into the underside of the trailer and have no idea what it screws into.
I am not too worried as I snugged the adjustable nut pretty firmly and will check it on a regular basis. The nylon lock nut is a great idea.

I agree with Coops, as odd that may be.
That bolt is maybe 10" long and after its removal, not finding it's home base would an issue I would not want to deal with.

Is there something you have to remove to get access to that bolt? We haven't looked at ours yet. We have it parked at my dad's place until the frost is gone. We still got snow the other day but it melted quickly.
Anyway, we put it on our to do list.

On ours and Bob's you can see the bolt ..we didn't remove anything you can see it when you crawl under the slide.
Scroll back to the start of this thread and have a look at the bolt pictures.
Sorry about the snow...+20 c today with sunshine in Kamloops BC

So my friends, I suggest you take a look under your slide and make sure the lock nut on your "stop bolt" is secure.
I hope I have attached the photo of our lock bolt before I adjusted it outward another 3 inches.
Bob[/QUOTE]
Well today I crawled under my Timber Ridge to find that I too have problems with this stop bolt. The nut which is supposed to be at the opposite end of the bolt snugged up tight to the frame is instead snugged up to the head of the bolt. My plan is to adjust as best as I can with all the wonderful info here but will try to get it in for a warranty adjustment.

Check your slide stop bolts orv owners
Bascoe47,kayakcrazy, Idaho Bob and me have had the same issues with the slide stop bolt not being adjusted.
That's 4...I hope there's no more.
You may want to inspect your bolts.
Thanks kayak

Finally was able to take a look at mine. Yep, the nut is at the bolt head, loose. Just wondering, is that bolt there to keep the slide from closing too far or sliding out too far? Is there supposed to be a bolt for both slide rails cuz I only have a bolt for the rear one. I still can't figure out how to adjust the slide so it doesn't contact the floor while opening and closing. So I have a hard piece of plastic under the slide when it's moving in or out. Hay, it's only a $40K TT so what do you expect. I am sure they will be able to answer all our questions at the rally.

My WR is still under cover but I will be checking this first thing when I bring it out for the season. Sure seems like this is meant to be a lock nut and if so it should definitely be locked against the rail rather than the bolt head. But so many finding it the other way makes me wonder about their intent. Surely they wouldn't be doing it wrong this consistently?
Do any of you have any contacts at ORV who could shed some light on this?

Here are some email addresses for ORV I sent them an email when this issue first popped up. They may be tired of hearing from me..it might be nice for them to hear from a different voice.
IMHO...it look likes the bolt is just installed at the factory, and not inspected and not adjusted I doubt the dealer during their dealer PDI even looks at it.
Since I didn't know what to look for during my PDI when I bought the trailer..I didn't see anything wrong.
rick.ewing@outdoorsrvmfg.com Rick is the ORV service manager
gail.huddleston@outdoorsrvmfg.com Gail is the warranty and service rep
dave.asmussen@outdoorsrvmfg.come Dave is the same as Gail.
I have met them all in La Grande before last year's campout. I was treated great from these guys with my TT issues.
Hope this helps.

So is the bolt a inward or out stop?

Out...extend the slide until the inside seals are squished about 1 to 11/2 in thickness between the slide and the side wall. then hand screw the bolt until it stops turning...( don't reef on it) and cinch the the lock nut to the side rail.
Go slow and adjust accordingly.
From what Bob said it stops the slide from pushing your side walls out.
You owe Bob big time....he likes single malt..neat. Not too peaty.

Spent the day cleaning roof and washing my 2014 Creekside 27BH in anticipation of first trip this year. After cleaning, I extended slide and crawled under to take a look at my bolt. While the lock nut was not up to the head of the bolt, it was not touching the frame. Rather the lock nut was about mid way between the bolt head and frame. Bolt was loose enough to turn either direction by hand. Lock nut was not adjustable by hand. I was unsure what to do as I was only vaguely remembering this thread and did not have internet access. I hand tightened bolt and left lock nut alone as it would not turn by hand. After viewing the thread this evening, it appears as if lock nut needs to be adjusted to snug up to frame away from head of bolt, I did not take a picture but my frame appears to be cut out with space around the bolt. If I did adjust lock nut inward, it appears as if it would not touch frame? puzzled?
