Yes do a soap test.

This is why everyone should be doing soap tests on their LP fittings on a regular basis, especially after having a tank refilled. Its easy to blame someone else for supplying sub-par parts but ultimately its up to the owner to make sure gas lines remain sound. This is not a part that's hidden away and can't be easily checked. There's a reason why propane compartments are ventilated, components can fail.

Well, I soap tested mine today. The left one has a nasty looking gasket but both are holding gas. No bubbles for either line. I will replace them over the winter anyway since they are the kind with the rubber gasket.

Mine leaked after 6 months. I lifted the gas cylinder cover off to hook up my bbq and noticed the propane smell and could hear it when I flexed the hose. Fortunately our camp site had power to run the refrigerator. I purchased two new pig tail hoses from a nearby Camping World only to find out that the regulator was 1/4”npt and the hose was a 1/4” inverted flare. When we returned I ordered a couple of brass adapters and haven’t had any problems 6 months later.

I would say everyone should just replace them to the non rubberish grommet style not wait for them to fail.

Thanks for carrying this forward to ORV....you're right, just replace them before they fail.
It takes a long time to initiate a recall for something like this. Contact with the supplier and manufacture of the hose, testing, etc. Then finding out which trailers got which pigtails......on and on it goes.

Word to the wise if you replace.....be sure to get the right threaded fitting for the regulator end. There are flare and pipe thread types. Mine was pipe. Wrap these with the orange tape.

Yeah seems like all the new hoses are flare so you have to get pipe to flare adapters for the actual regulator. An actual nice move i think. I prefer flare much easier to remove and reinstall if necessary.

If you smell a leak, do not look for it with a match.

What a koininky-dink... This just happened to me.. both of the rubber grommets rotted and fell out, one pigtail is leaking, the other seems to be holding for the moment.
