Sewer hose connection to trailer.....not enough room!

Sp I took my trailer for our first trip. 4 days at a local state park weather was perfect.....80's-low 90's!!! Trailer performed great after a couple of small issues (propane hoses leaking, homemade wheel stabilizers did not fit correctly).

Upon leaving I needed to empty tanks. Went to connect to black tank connection and could barely connect the waste hose female fitting to the male ABS fitting on trailer. There was not enough room for hose and fitting to come out straight....I had to bend down the side skirting to get it to fit. Same issue with rear gray tank just not as bad, meaning there was a little more room to connect hose nut I still had to bend skirting back a few inches. It was a REAL hassle!

Do others have this same issue?
If so, how did you resolve?

My thoughts:

1. Attach a 45 degree elbow between RV and waste hose
2. Cut off current male ABS fitting and glue in a 45 degree elbow making for a permanent fix

NOTE: Was thinking of a 90 degree elbow but I'm worried that it may slow down "stuff from making its way out!

Thoughts?

I would either add a 45 degree or 90 degree clear elbow and, like I do, leave it attached to trailer.....in fact, what I did was hard plum the rear outlet to the front one due to the rear handle and gate valve being located under the slide......I 'camp' for 5 months a year without moving...

X2 on the elbows. Clear lets you see when the tanks are empty and when flushing after a few dumps, keep flushing until it runs clear. Your sensors will thank you.
Happy Glamping.

Mine slope right from the tank or junction and end up just below the skirting.
Your pipe seems almost level, making gravity drainage more difficult.

Could the pipe just be tied up too tight, perhaps over flexing the fitting into the tank?
I would hope not but ...

Not sure if I'm seeing things right. Is the pipe coming out of the
underbelly 1 1/2" or 3"?

Wow, that was pretty dumb of ORV to not put some slope to the pipe, and cram it inside the skirting that way. Try loosening the clamp and see if it drops some....if not, then......

I would either put a 45 clear elbow, or cut and modify the pipe permanently.

Minor, but doable. I know some will say "but it's new, I shouldn't have to fix their problems." Does not work that way, there will always be something to fix. Part of the fun!!

Good luck. Enjoy your trailer.

There is ample slope....

Over a 3' span, pipe drops 1.5".

I believe pipes are up tight to underbelly for off road use.

So both are the same.....take it to the dealer first it that doen't work then do what egwilly recommends

If you do cut things apart glue one of these on the black tank pipe. Saves having any surprises when removing the cap.

I would just put a clear 45 on there. I wanted a 45 for mine but all they had the day I bought my sewer hose was a 90 and it works fine. Doesn't slow it down enough to matter.

Never had a problem with our connections, only thing was I couldn't use a 6" (or is it 8"??!!) clear extension on the hose!! Are you trying to use a solid extension? After a couple of "dumps" I did go to a 45 degree elbow to hook the clear extension and hose on. Just the normal coupler on the hose end cleared the lower panel. Never had a hook up problem with the sink connection (other than the bother of hooking hose up twice!!).

When I connected the rear pipe to the main pipe, I did shorten it slightly and still keep a 45 on the end. Clear extension and hose still fit in bumper. Elbow and extension don't interfere in any apparent way.

So on these trailer models you have to connect the dump hose twice?

On the GP, the galley gray is piped to the main 3" line for the black and gray tank in the front. Seperate valve pull is all. Fills up fast!

I wonder if you could do the same on these? Re-plumb the pipes. Curious. Connecting the hose twice would be a pain to me, not to mention holding up the dump line!
