Here is the link to the smoke forecast that I've been using for work:
BlueSky Daily Runs
There is a health advisory for Southern BC and AB for the next few days as the jet stream is changing and pulling the smoke down to the south to add to the already significant smoke issue in the southern end of both provinces. The good news though is reduced smoke in the northern and Central Interior regions.

Thanks. Just looked at the 10 day weather. calling for several days of rain. Hope that helps. If not, it won’t be much fun cycling in the area.

Heavy smoke all the way here from Jasper/ Columbia Ice Field, arrived 3 hours ago. All we could see was the silhouette of the mountains.

Ice field was cool and so was the skywalk!

I’ll update tomorrow! we have some reasonable service finally!

A friend in Hinton AB says they've had some clearing today.
So if that follows your route you may have better conditions in the morning.
Probably because all the smoke blew down here, to the coast .

Visibility down to less than 1,000 yards , and unlike when it was this bad on Tuesday we can smell the smoke and see ash in the air.
I'm expecting the ferry to start using , fog horns.
Don't know if the local airport has suspended operations .

The 14 day forecast, for my location, has rain in my area ; on the 31st. I don't think I'll hold my breath.

Our minor inconvenience is your reality. Banff is fair now, not great but better than yesterday for us in Jasper. Inside the campground conditions are better than we’ve had for almost a week.

80 miles due south of Grand Forks BC. Yesterday we could not see across Lake Roosevelt. Today we can not see the Lake, less than 800 meters. My Flag was barely fluttering. WA, CA, OR, and BC are all on fire.

Pray for lightning free RAIN.

I have been playing in the Canadian Rockies since working a summer in Banff,1967. For us, it is only a 5 hour drive, so if we have to pospone the trip for a few weeks, so be it. Don't know where you are coming from but if mountain vistas are important, I would cancel until smoke clears up.

The smoke doesn't bother me, but not been able to get good photos of the area is a no show.

The Canadian Rockies are spectacular especially if you can get off the pavement and into the back country a few hours. After 50 years hiking this area, I am still finding exciting things to do.

Photo is from Fairview Mtn above Lake Louise late July.

Woke up a while ago to lightning free rain here in Banff. Unfortunately we live on the east coast and our dance card is full. It’s now or never. When we finish with Yosemite we could return in October, but that might be about the dead of winter up here, eh?

Just saw on news the Glacier national park is burning. Fire close to Road Into the Sun. Air in Spokane Washington is unhealthful.

I wouldn't consider October in the southern Canadian Rockies ; the dead of winter , but you can get frost , and some snow on the mountain tops, and overnight on mountain passes.

Hope you get a chance to enjoy the views in the Banff area and that the little rain forecast later in the week continues to improve air quality.
