Supporting Electric Cable Under Slide

On our 2011 Wind River, the 4'-5' electric cable under the slide is not supported by anything, so somebody has to "curl" it under the exterior fender as the slide is retracted. The cable has a ribbon of rubber/plastic the cord is attached to, but it just hangs down if I don't curl it under. I've tried to use plastic ties to attached to the rack and pinon rail, but they end up breaking as it slides in. Any help, including pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Think I've seen systems like this on older trailers.

On newer ones like our 2014 they use a metal rod with coiled electrical wire wrapped around it. As the metal rod extends and retracts into the basement with the slide, the coiled wire is neatly pulled out and pushed back in.

Spring attached

Have a look. The service folks at the factory added this spring to pull back the electrical webbing. Had no idea a spring was needed to recoil the strap as never had a slide before. The spring was missing when I bought the trailer new.
The other end that is attached to the slide pulled out. Used some metal self tapping screws to reattach it. A trailer is a trailer is a trailer. Good luck. Coops

Here’s the end that pulled out

The screw(s) that hold the cable L bracket “thingy dingy” pulled out. Too friggin old to limbo under the slide.... and never had a drill to reattached it...so paid a service guy to reattach it....mucho denaro in US funds for a very simple job. Oh the joys of old age and non flexible body parts. Coops

Looks like they changed a lot from 2013 to 2014 model year.
IIRC that was when they went to Al framing and arched ceilings as well.

I'm sure this is the same set-up as ours. I'll look at it tomorrow and take pictures of the area. We're starting to get it ready for a southern trip to warmer temps. It's so cold here, the foam mattress is frozen solid!!

Finally got a picture of how the electrical cable is rigged under the back of the slide. The backing strip has holes along the top for securing some sort of spring similar to one other posting, but I don't think this is original. Seems the addition of a spring will be my next modification.

Find a spring that is the correct length, size and strength and attach to the electrical web and to a solid piece on the trailer and “Bobs Your Uncle”.
Give the folks a the ORV service dept. a call for specs of the spring. Good luck
