I'd say they both have plans to pick up market share in the growing full timers/ retirees segment along with maintaining what they have in the recreational market. Given the craze toward downsizing and tiny houses it's a more viable alternative in many ways and it can result in higher yields per unit produced. I couldn't believe how many of those tiny homes we saw in RV parks this year and the owners just pay to have them moved since they don't own trucks. Lower wages, fewer jobs, result in lower home prices to an expanding base unable to afford larger homes.

My 2017 Creekside 20fq is considered a 1rst generation 2017 with minimal or no differences from the latest 2016s but there is a 2nd generation 2017 20 fq coming out over the next few months that has changes and part of the revamping of lines and models ORV is doing.

Constant slow change all held in secret till it happens is the way to keep sales of present units up and even secure previous owners to trade up. I missed several changes on my unit by buying 3 months early but also saved a large price increase. The factory suite will probably lag the changes so here we can learn about them. The big RV show in Pomona starts in about 2 weeks and there will be some new units there but not expecting any floor plan changes. Expecting some upgrade and option changes.

straight from the rumor mill...
wannabe insider said the timber ridge will be gone. but he also said that about the blackrock 6 months ago.
the blackrock will become the back country once again.
i looked at a 2017 timber ridge 240rks. identical to our 2016.
as we all know, the real changes come out mid model year.

I just looked at their website and I see no mention of ORV being there.
Do you have the inside scoop?

Do we have any chance of finding out which models might be on display?

They're not going to update their website until 2016 dealer inventory is reduced, just like the auto mfg's do. New 2017's are on the auto lots and many models still aren't updated on their websites. Many dealers can't/ won't carry new inventory until old is sold since they have to pay flooring costs on older units, and the banks control their flooring line telling them to reduce inventory when necessary. They may have them ordered but don't want them delivered to maximize their cash flow. It's a business decision that benefits both companies in that it helps ORV build new units to deliver to dealers so they all get new product while eliminating old inventory.

I would not compare it to the auto industry. The auto industry normally doesn't sell "2017" models which are really the same as 2016 1/2 models and then release updated 2017 models as 2017 1/2 models. As a new person to buying travel trailers I find the practice pretty deceitful. To the uninitiated, one can find the first year depreciation to be a lot more than you would normally think when buying a new year model. IMO

The RV business is a sham, but we're stuck with it. Too bad it has to be this way. It's bad enough that we have to deal with crappy dealers but on top of that the RV's we buy are literally hit or miss as far as quality goes.
