Thermal windows vs reg

I'm wondering how much difference the thermal windows make. I have pretty well pulled the trigger on a Creekside 27bhs but it turns out the one in question possibly does not have thermal windows when I thought it did.

First off.... I'm a little surprised that in a 4 season trailer the thermal windows wouldn't be standard because is a chain not only as strong as its weakest link? If I do decide to take it anyways, will I notice a difference in -5 to -10C?

I know the initial response will be "Get one that has them then". This is an early 15 model, so priced accordingly, without electric jacks (which is my preference). I won't find another one like this within reasonable distance if at all. I'm already travelling 4 hrs to these guys.

Thermal windows help a lot, however, I am always disappointed at the amount of cold that comes through the aluminum frame. Years ago, a friend with non thermal windows, bought some plexiglass made small rubber gaskets and made really good indoor window covers in the bedroom area. Worked better than my factory thermal windows.

thermal or not

I have had both and am not convinced they would be deal breaker for me. They are very thin unlike residential windows and I think the sound barrier quality is actually more of a issue than the insulating factor for us. Nothing good curtains or covers can't fix. I also think if you are making altitude changes often, you will eventually be fighting fogged windows or creeping seals which is a costly fix.Our last 32 fifth wheel had single pane and we were happy. Our new blackstone coming has thermal pane and we will see.

Go simple. I have had them in three different trailers and all the trailers had a couple of window that the seals went bad and got foggy. Just like the electric jacks, its just not worth it. My 2 cents.

We've had them in our last three RV's and wouldn't be without them.

-10 C equals +14 degrees F. I would not be interested in having single pane RV windows at that temperature. I have fulltimed with both window types. Shouldn't a 4 season trailer be built for winter?

Did you ever have fogging issues?

Yikes. That's not good. Were they outdoor RV trailers?

Love our thermal panes, for the quiet as well as insulation.
Wouldn't go without them.
I would hold out for what you want.

I really like the reduced condensation with the thermal pane windows. Much less toweling down of the windows on cold days.

I have single pane windows. I'll try some of the heat shrink film over them to see how that works. I should by some now, there are a few boxes on clearance at my local wally world.
