Trailer door option

Is it possible to order a trailer such as a 25RDS with only one door. I really have no need for a door into the bedroom.

You will not have access to the bedroom with the slide in (likely) which is why there are 2 doors. That way you can load your trailer at your curb without having to have the slide out.

Just my $.02 worth.

Agree! And it also allows quick potty breaks on long trips without having to move the slide out to get to the bathroom. Or if you're doing an overnight stop in a parking lot where you can't put the slide out, you still have access to everything you need through the 2 doors.

IIRC it is also the emergency exit. On my Fiver with only one door the bedroom window is an Emergency exit, on our TC it has a huge fully opening skylight above the bed that is the emergency exit. I do not think that ORV will mod a trailer to have no door as Safety rules won't allow it and the wall are all made from jigs and they will not do one offs.

And in warm weather, the open bedroom door provides better X-ventilation.

And a view when I'm resting my back on the bed! It really makes the bedroom more spacious when opened.

On the other hand, if you're winter camping or in hot, muggy weather, every door is a heat leak, even when closed.

With our 250RDSW we have full front to back access with the slide not extended. We use the front door as others have described. Call the factory for the best answer to your question.

As far as exits go -the bedroom window is also one as is the big window in the slide.

While we don't use that door very much when camping but when stopping along the side of the road the front door allows quick and easy access to the bath, refer, and kitchen area. It also makes packing easier.

Yes you can skinny between the kitchen counter and the slide but it is much easier through the front door.

While ORV is more into custom builds than other mfgs - I really don't think they would even consider this one as all of those sidewalls are batch built using CNC routers so to omit the door would require a reprogramming of the system.

That's right: you can get past the slide while it's in. A bit tight, but definitely doable. And also right that the bedroom window on the road side is an emergency exit. (Though it would be a long way to the ground from there. I shudder to imagine actually having to use it!) I really don't know why they put a second door in this floor plan but not in other similar ones.

That said, we use it as a cargo hatch more than anything. It is really nice to be able to just stuff things in and out of that door while loading in/out. We got carpet in the bedroom area so to keep that nice we really don't use that door for going in or out (we leave shoes at the other one).

I'll be interested if you do ask them what response you get!
