Water Filter and Pressure Regulators

I am looking for more information about water filters and pressure regulators.

I understand that it's good to have a water inlet filter and that the inlet pressure be regulated. I see where many people put these outside between the external water faucet and trailer water inlet.

1) Does ORV generally include any means of inlet filtration and pressure regulation integrated as part of the plumbing design?

2) Has anyone installed water filtration and pressure regulation inside of the water inlet? If it's not already built in, would be nice to not have the contraptions outside.

I see that the Watts water pressure regulators are highly recommended and was going to pick one up unless someone tells me this is now all built into the plumbing system.

There is nothing built in on my Creekside but that doesn't mean ORV doesn't do something on the higher end trailers. I just use a low cost pressure regulator and one of the blue Camco charcoal filters on the water hose and it seems to work fine. I like the filter on the exterior hose because I can also use it when I fill my water tank. Some people like big multi-stage water filtration systems but living in the NW I find that most of our municipal water is just fine.

Same here, although we just use a plain filter, no charcoal, as I want to have the chlorine or other city-disinfectant get in my trailer's plumbing. To get rid of the chlorine for tea, we use a pitcher filter.

I use the same method. It has worked for me.

The pressure regulator should be on the end of your hose. attached at the campground hose bib. If they (campground) have high pressure and you only have on-board pressure regulator it can blow your hose.

I am not as concerned about water going to toilet or showers, so I filter my water at the sink with an under the counter filter and separate faucet. This works out well for me as I don't have to worry about a filter setup each time I camp. That said, I do have an adjustable regulator at the water spigot where I connect my water hose.
