Water Pump - how long is the warranty? & extra input line?
I'm getting water into my fresh water tank so I think I need a new water check valve. I was wondering if I'm still covered under warranty - I"m into my 13th month.
Also
While looking at my water pump I noticed that there are 2 input lines on the fresh water tank side of the water pump.
Line 1 from the fresh water tank to a "T" with a switch
Line 2 Just a line, not connected to anything - closed off to the same "T" as above?
What is line 2 for? RV mfgs don't put in extra parts for nothing so I was wondering what it is.

Line 2 is for winterizing, flip the switch, put line 2 into A/F jug, turn on pump and begin winterizing.

Talk to your dealer about the check valve. Should be a pretty easy fix. Here is a video of the repair.

Thanks - I'm thinking about putting a check valve in between the pump and the fresh water tank.

This has been brought many times. Something in pump valves. Crap from tank, or hard water deposits under the pump valves. Seems like it happens frequently when hooked up to outside water. Try running the pump without the outside hookup, and/or blow air through the bypass line to push the stuff out of the valves. Usually will work, and you don't have to take apart!! Had this happen a few times in our experience, and have always taken care of without dismantling pump. Worth a try!!!

Thank! I'll try that. I ran it without hook ups and the valve from the fresh water turned off. I'll try your other suggestions.

Think line 2 is used to suck antifreeze into your plumbing.
ORV sent me a new pump when mine started doing the same thing; filling up the tank.
Later the new pump started acting up. But after a drive and several tests it fixed itself. Sometimes stuff gets stuck in the check valve, then gets loose.
So I went back to the old pump and tried it later and it worked ok. So now we have a spare thanks to ORV.

I've also added a 1 micron filter to my water hose.
Hopefully this helps keep the junk out of the valve.

As for the warranty question check the documentation that came with the trailer as the pump would have its own warranty.

There's a factory-installed filter before the pump in our model. Maybe that has been added since yours?

Shurflo has at least a two year warranty. Mine quit on me and Northwood sent me a new one at about 22 months. Not really that big of a deal as they're cheap $$ to begin with and I'm sure NW gets a good discount like ORV would. Didn't even have to send the old one back.

Thanks for all the replies.
I think I corrected the problem without taking anything apart.
I ran the pump disconnected from city water and the winterizing line engaged. Then I ran the pump using the fresh water tank.
Then I connected the city water and ran it for awhile.
No more water going into the fresh water tank.
