I hope you were treated well. I've never seen a good deal when trading in a fairly new trailer.

tr240rks first impressions....
picked up the new tt yesterday. here's what i've learned so far.
seems orv has built a following much larger than i thought.
the new owner of my trade-in 23rks, was waiting for me to arrive with it. i could have saved thousands selling it myself. i never even tried.
there is so much more storage, unbelievable!
a trade off is the extended wards in the bedroom. much harder to make the bed.
the pots/pans drawers under the dinette are nearly twice the size. all my current stuff that used both now easily fit into 1. the other i use for the cordless vac and electric tower heater, haha. the huge drawer under the bigger fridge now holds mucho beverage, so does outside slide hatch.
the 30 mile drive to the dealer was the only time i towed the 23rks completely empty. it felt like an ultra light. the trip home with the tr felt like the loaded creekside. i'll have to be carefull not to load up all the possible storage areas,
although nearly everything with significant weight is at or aft of the axles.
i really liked the log cabin feel of the snowriver, but this tr is a 4 star hotel in comparison. just hope its reliable.
ps, since we purchased before 3/31 we get a free zamp 80 watt suitcase style portable solar panel, a $599 value, haha.

Do people make the bed when camping? I've never even considered it. I'm off the ground and in a bed so i'm pretty damn happy.

Yes, for us extended campers (AKA Snowbirds) that extended storage and larger frig are important.
These are heavy trailers. Expect your tongue weight is going to be North of 1000#, mine is 1100-1200#, and our rear axle is over-loaded a few percent. They tow very well though.

After camping in a TC for the last ten years, the bedroom is positively cavernous. you can make the bed, and even standup beside the bed. WOW.

If I wake up between sheets I'll think I never left the house and that is not good. Just give me a pillow and a pile of blankets.

little things..
awning needs adjustment in a big way, main entry screen door afu, a clamp under the slide for a wire harness just hanging there (mount screw sheared), owner fixed the last one. not too bad overall.
about the tongue weight....the service guy, to my dis-pleasure, raised my ball mount. he stated all trailers MUST leave the dealership level. only problem with that is i cant lower the tailgate all the way after disconnecting. so, i'll put it back where it was then go about my own readjustments. not that hard to do.
the truck also has rear air bags w/compressor, so i have the ability to change the weight distribution a little on the fly, for changing road conditions. more air=less distribution. 5 lbs increments is ~ +/- 30 lbs front to rear. i'm using an equalizer e4 with 1200 lb bars.

watch out for the weight police. with the light weight 3900lb ram rear axle i figured my days of packing 400lbs of firewood are over. maybe only 200lbs in addition to all the other crap back there

Heh, I guess some consider me the weight police on another forum. As I do regularly weigh my rig and post the results. That's how I know my rear axle is over. When cutting it this close, I always like to know just how bad it is.
The high tongue weight was one surprise with the Timber Ridge. But another was how easy it is to get such a heavy trailer stuck, even in wet grass, with a 4x2. My previous trailer was half the weight, and we never had a problems. Now I'm completely paranoid about getting off the pavement or gravel.
The next truck will be a 4x4 and more HD.
