We're on the list for 2018 in Oregon
Just spoke with a very nice lady at "Park at the River" in Oregon and we are officially on the list, just need 6 spots to cancel and were in. Failing that we are looking at surrounding areas and state parks to get a spot. This trip will coincide with a trip along the coast for the 2 weeks following the campout.
Any suggestions for state of private RV accommodations and must see's on the way to and along the coast? We are reasonably avid hikers and we really enjoy the local history while traveling.
Cheers
Daryl and Merry Anne B.

The state campground is right next door and very nice. Rally #1&2 was there. You can go on line and see the suites.

If you like hiking, Silver Falls State Park is quite beautiful and has a good hiking trail. Be aware that no dogs on the trail is not allowed if you decide to get another dog. Lots of state parks on the Oregon coast, we have been to quite a few of them.

Thanks 4x4, I jumped on the Wallowa state park this AM and created an account with Oregon State Parks, set up a notification for when the dates become available to book.

Thanks, bookmarked. It looks beautiful, definitely on the list. I don't think a puppy will be in the cards until we are both retired. There's a few off continent trips that we need to complete prior to adding a new addition. Guess we'll just have to get a Holly fix periodically

If you like to hike then by all means take some time to hike around the Wallowa mountains before or after the ORV camp out. You are literally right in the middle of some of the best hiking in all of Oregon. Aneroid lake trailhead is about a quarter of a mile from the Park at the River campground. The Wallowa mountains are known as the little Switzerland of Oregon. They are famous for backpacking but there are some very doable day hikes as well. Depending on the severity of the winter will depend on how much snow is out of the backcountry by the time of the campout in June.
