Which Progressive??

Looking to improve the stock WFCO55 unit. Progressive Dynamics has 9200 and 4500 series converters. I just want to boost the 12 volt charging to the batteries---which unit do I need?
Thanks-------------

The factory upgrades everything from steps to countertops so why not the battery charger? The PD is a better unit.

Amazon sells both for under $250 but I would get the 9260 and add the remote pendant for $11. I will do just that before I buy new batts.

I will say that the newer WFCO chargers are much better than the old ones but mine never gets high enough output to desulfate the batts. At least it doesn't boil them like the older chargers would.

Call Randy at Best Converter. He Knows his stuff.
I got the 55amp wildcat 4655l. It even has a jumper for when I move to lithium batteries.

When I was considering this upgrade, someone on IRV2 suggested that if I didn't know the wire sizes of the original converter installation, it might be a good idea to not exceed the amperage capacity of the original WFCO unit, 35 amps in my case. So I stayed with 35 amps.

Move the converter close to the batteries. That will elemenate the voltage drop in the long wire run.

The converter is seeing its own voltage and dropping to float, the battery never gets fully charged.
