I'm working on this solar panel promo for us Canucks. Feedback from ORV is dealer should do it, if not I can get back to them to deal directly with their promo people. I'll let you know the outcome...

Hi Jack!

So, what is the markup for the trailer you bought? How much did the salesman make on your sale?

And why does everyone that is buying a vehicle have to "get all they can"? I don't understand how anyone would know if they really did "get all they can".

I'd rather have great service after the sale, instead of being told "You milked us dry. We have nothing left for you. Get in line with everyone else."

Just my opinion. Not judging others for what they got. I only posted wondering how others are getting all this "stuff" and I was offered basically nothing.

And I forgot, they expertly and accurately set up my weight distributing hitch for no added cost. That was a good value to me.
Hey 1bigmess,

You're right. Don't know if we got all we could but we are happy with what we did get. Much more than the promo and much more than what was first offered. Oh, and by the way, the Equilizer sway/weight distribution hitch was a 'throw-in' and the service guy did a great job setting it up on my Dodge.

I don't know what the markup on the TT is that we got but I know that when surfing the internet for prices we got a very, very good price. I did the research.

I don't know how much the salesman made on the sale but I hope it was substantial because he was very good. Very polite. Very professional. Very respectful. No pressure. And I can call him a friend now.

And, as I have been saying, service after the sale has been great. Not only do we get emails from the sales person asking how things are but we have had calls and emails from the dealer AND the mfg.

Maybe it's all about attitude and showing appreciation.

If I had had a bad experience with these folks I sure as hell would be letting all know about it. For damned sure. I'm 67 years old this month and this has been the best buying experience I have ever had. Cars, trucks, boats, rv's, motorcycles and atv's thru the years. Most good, one really bad, this one really good. You read so many negatives about mfg's. and dealer service.
I want folks to know that these folks are working hard to give you a good product and good service after the sale.

So, I'm wondering. How did you get your tag 1bigmess?

Hey, if you're up in the Pacific NW give a holler. Camp fire and cold beer!

That's great! Looking forward to hearing your results.

I'm happy with what I got and what we paid for it. No buyers remorse, but those other promo items, if they are outdoor RV promos, hard to see why they would be only for select areas if it's the manufacturer who is giving them out.

Dealer promos are of course up to the dealer and that's fine. I got batteries and two full propane tanks plus a starter kit with hoses, adapters, etc. that was dealer specific. So I guess the question is what is a dealer promo and what is the manufacturer promo?

I made the name 1bigmess after seeing how me and a German Shepherd were making a big mess out of moving into our ORV Black Rock 19B. One could also look at my posts on IRV2 and see that the name fits.

WIthout knowing what one pays for this, that, and the other thing without knowing the profit margins on, it's just as likely to assume that the person paying for all that stuff is *you*. And the other buyers and customers of the dealership. That stuff ain't free. There is no free lunch.

Again, I'm not making this personal, and I believe that I have caused plenty of thread drift for one day.

Morn'n,

The solar panel was an ORV promo. A very nice kit.

The chairs, Yeti cooler and cups were dealer promo with dealer name on them.

The Equilizer hitch and rv cover were a "gimme" by the dealer. Remember, by that time we were in the last 20 minutes of the rv show.

As stated, 'after' sale experience is what matters and we are very happy.

That makes total sense, I have read other posts which have said they got a yeti cooler and cups, so it sounded like it was an outdoors Rv thing. Maybe a lot of people bought from the same RV show as you did lol.

Thanks for clearing that up, now I have no jealousy lol!

I think I got in on the solar promo...have no idea as the dealer said he handled it. But as far as y'all getting extras....that's outstanding! Feel fortunate as I got Jack squat with mine. My dealer was a lying, manipulative, POS. Anyway, we were after the trailer and got trailer. Nothing was given extra. Except maybe the large holes in the roof at roofline, and razor blades on the seat cushions, and more. Anyway, I'm very happy some got great extras. If you get your zamp ss, post it!

Anyone receive their solar panel kit - other than those who have already mentioned receiving it? I'm at about 6 weeks from taking delivery and still nothing. Just curious.

I had contacted Outdoor RV and they just called me. There's a back order from the manufacturer and my kit is part of the next batch. I'll guess that Archer75 will be part of that batch as well. The woman from ORV said it would be 2-3 more weeks tops.

Thanks for the heads up! We're heading out dry camping at the end of the month so if that's the case it should arrive just in time!

100% agree Bigmess. I buy a few things wholesale. The only incentive I've found that make sense are extended warranties offered by the (not aftermarket) manufacture.

When we paid cash for our truck there was several incentives available but for each the price went up.
A interest free loan if we paid $3,100.00 more
2 free winter tires for $600.00 more (retail + $100.00) and a hidden cost of $100.00 mounting and balancing
Spray in box liner for $700.00 more....(retail + $200.00)

The salesman said that "neither FORD or the dealership ever give anything away for free."

I bought my trailer end of March. I emailed Kevin at Outdoors mid April to find out when the solar panels would be arriving. He said they were on back order from Zamp but as soon as Zamp sends Outdoors the solar panels they will ship them out. That was about a month ago, but still waiting.

On a side note. Does anybody know if you have to have the solar switch on, in the trailer for the quick plug to work with the portable solar panel?
