1999 Airbus convretor/inverter

On a recent trip while using the generator to supply power, the AC power will cycle on and off. I suspect the invertor/convertor. What are you guys replacing it with?

A thought would be to listen to your Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS). Maybe that's going out? Or as you suspect the power converter.

Our ca. 1997 converter is getting put out to pasture this weekend by a nice shiny Progressive Dynamics PD9260. Have had some low power readings at the house battery bank even on shore or generator so it can't hurt. It has the bonus of also being a 4-stage charger. Of course it will be an adventure.

The Progressive Dynamics is a very good choice, but only makes 12vdc for your 12vdc loads and charges your house batteries using acv from land line or generator. If everything works OK with land line, I would think the 110vAC load is more than the generator is rated for, or it is defective

What load were you pulling on the generator. If I remember correctly, the load control center unit or generator it self will drop the generator off line if the load is too high. The convertor unit which houses the breakers for the AC and fuses for the DC circuits would trip a circuit breaker if the current draw was excessive.

That is what I was referring to. In other words, what were you attempting to run at the time of the cycling on and off? That includes everyday use and something you haven't used before. Give us a list please.
