First trip
Tomorrow we leave on our first trip. Not a big one , only about 165 miles to my sister's farm in PA. This will be a try out and male sure everything works. Staying 3 nights in the RV. I am so excited I doubt I will get much sleep tonight.

I hope everything goes well! It's funny, I'm a 53 year old man that has gone on a million trips during my lifetime but every trip is like the first trip and I get very excited. It's a good feeling! Let us know how the trip goes.

Just getting ready has been a challenge. First the propane system wold not work. Seemed like no power to the safety in the coach. Checked all the breakers and fuses then find a bad connection at the tank solenoid. Had to drill out the old screws that held the wires. They were rusted and stripped out. Next, I fill the water tank and turn on the hot water. Comes out looking like iced tea. So I drains the hot water tank and flush out all the **** in the bottom. Then clean the cathoide and all the lines. Good dreif it is a lot of work to go camping.

Yup, after 3 years I'm still the same, toss and turn all night.

Par for the course. Just wait until you go on your trip. I always say every trip is like an open book test!

Back home from our trip. Had a great time. There were a few things that we foregot, a few things that didn't work. Nothing so major it spoiled our trip.
The toilet in the 1/2 bath won't flush, no water to the toilet.
The fridge won't light the propane but I can light it and it then works. Worked fine on electricity
A couple interior lights didn't work
The furnaces worked great. 29 degrees and toasty warm.
As a side note, first trip with full water and propane. All our cloths, food and dogs we got 7.6 mpg. I do not have all my stuff done yet so I am happy with that.

Congratulations on your first trip. There is nothing like it.
And, great that you are handy, and not afraid to work on your RV. While there's nothing wrong with being a "Checkbook mechanic", it can be very costly.
