Can RVTW plan a "Drive nnn miles each day" route?

I looked at the demo and I know they have a 30-day guarantee but I dislike giving a credit card to anyone when I'm not fully committed so I figured I'd ask.

And on the routing, is there an "Avoid city streets if possible" option? My Garmin RV 785 likes to try and take me down several side streets with low tree branches to get home rather than taking a slightly longer route on main roads. I had to program several tiny "custom avoidances" for short sections of streets I do not want to drive on. I've done the same for the routes it selects to some campgrounds but that is always after the fact.

Thanks,

Ray

You can set preferences. You may have to play with it to see what works but being your first problem is going home that makes it a bit easier. I would set the preferences to 13' 6" height of unit. 65' as length and 55,000 #'s as weight, 110" width and prefer Inter-State Hwy. Then go out in a car ten or so miles from home and see what it does. I'm not sure what you are driving but my Garmin is set as above. We have a 44 ' coach and a JEEP Grand Cherokee as the tow so I have it set for 65' and it tries to avoid city streets a much as possible unless it has to. Sometime it will go the long way around but that's better than having a problem.

The good thing about a car is you can go with the GPS and it doesn't know it's a car and it makes it easy to just try again. You can play with the setting and eliminate or lower some to fit your actual situation and see which one is the one that is in fact making the changes you want.

Have fun.

About the question of Drive X number of miles each day. Trip Wizard has a feature that allows you to set a Driving Radius. You can set it to show a radius that can appear around each stop, you can then look for places to stay where the radius crosses your route. What I do is set a starting point and enter my final destination to establish a route. I then set the driving radius around my starting point and look for places to stay route where it intersects with the radius. There are several ways to define the radius, such as hours driven and miles driven.
There is also a youtube channel that has several good video tutorials on how to use the many features of Trip Wizard. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCu8uA8TRlpHjlqyZC0WRZdg

Thanks, folks. We're 58' with a 38' motorhome, dolly and car. We're 12'6" so I use 13.0'. The weight is essentially 26,000 with the car and ready to hit the road.

The Garmin RV 785 routing to our home is "peculiar" whereas the car Garmin does it fine. The route from the interstate is literally is two right-hand turns on to our street.

The RV 785 tries to take us too far north three miles early and down a 10' wide 2-lane street, and then a left and then a left and then a bunch of side streets.

When I set a custom avoidance for the northbound streets, it takes us correctly down the 4-lane state route that the interstate exits on to, but goes past the street that leads to our street, to the next intersection a mile away and then brings us east through a bunch of side streets. If I fix that with a custom avoidance, only then does it turn right on to the street that leads to ours. It's like it thinks something is wrong with that road or something. It's 10' wide and only 0.8 miles distance to our street and pretty nice, actually.

The radius feature looks like it will do the trick.

Time to break out the old credit card, methinks.
