Driving thru Yellowstone to Jackson Hole
While planning our extended trip, trip wizard will not route me thru the Yellowstone park to Jackson Hole, via route 89 and 191. Are RV vehicles allowed to travel this stretch of road? I've tried trip wizard drag and drop but that doesn't work.
Just curious

What entrance to YNP are you going to use? All park entrances are open to RVs, but the NE entrance at Cooke City requires using the Beartooth Hwy, a pretty twisty, mountainous route. Another possibility, at present most all park entrances are still closed for winter, so perhaps your App won't allow routing. The NPS Yellowstone website has construction schedules, maps, planning, etc. for visiting YNP.
You most certainly can drive in an RV from YNP to Grand Teton NP and the town of Jackson. I'd caution about leaving Jackson by way of WY 22 and Teton Pass, it's a 10% grade (up and down) and difficult in an RV.
The two starred spots on the map are places you may swim or soak in YNP.
Be aware the totality path of this summer's solar eclipse will pass just south of YNP and include GTNP and the town of Jackson Aug. 21, 2017. Large crowds are expected at that time to see the eclipse.

Here's another link that describes all the entrances. For your specific question, yes, you can definitely drive through Yellowstone into Grand Teton Nat'l Park (stop for 2-3 days) and on to Jackson.

Driving thru Yellowstone to Jackson Hole
Routing might be impacted this time of year with some programs because certain roads are seasonally closed. I beat that by telling Google Maps I'm hiking. LOL

Sure are - must be the Google program - Try Bing Maps
https://binged.it/2nImxBI
Just a guess of your route - but think about including a drive through the Beartooth and Chief Joseph to Cody and Possibly a drive through Wind River Canyon. We always try to catch those four and Flaming Gorge and Dinosaur NM when in the area.
Not sure of your timing but from your other posts seems as if you are making a BIG LOOP around the country - if possible time the trip to do Colorado in September - October - https://lynn.smugmug.com/Travel/Colo...pens/i-tsVRkXg - and then over to Utah in the late Fall (Cooler) before you head back to Florida.
So much to see and do out West, IMHO you will need to come back again and again as you will just scratch the surface, on this first trip.
Hope this is of some help, give Bing Maps a try - it's my go to for maps now.

There are no authouized truck routes through Yellowstone and that may be why your planner is balking at a route through the park.

I've driven from West Yellowstone to Grand Teton National Park and Jackson in an RV on Highways 20 and 89 with no difficulty.

Having driven at night in Yellowstone (hospital runs) There are large trucks on the roads delivering to the stores, hotels, and restaurants. Deliveries only, no thru trucking allowed. I mention this only to show the roads can be navigated by larger vehicles than RVs. If you have to drive at night, I usually follow a truck to allow them to 'sweep the road' so I don't meet any BHMs (big hairy mammals) that may be getting warm on the roadway.

If avoid tolls is checked that can be the culprit
If avoid tolls is checked..many GPS routing programs consider Park Entrance fees “a toll”. And hence route you around that.
Had it happen several times to me on several of my various routing softwares.. but most noticeably at SOME National Park entrance booths!
