Feature Request - or how do I ...

I downloaded my Trip to Excel (using the RVTW export feature) but I doesn't download the "Travel Time" between stops. I get the Miles between Stops.

I wanted to plan out how long it takes to get each stop, so I know what time of day to leave the stop before.

Meaning, if I'm spending Sunday night at a Campground in NC (checkout is before 11 AM) what time do I need to leave to by to get to my next campsite in PA (where check In is not unit after 12) when the trip to that site is 304 miles and I have a rest stop in the middle for 1 hour) then another 271 miles to get to campsite.

I want to see if I leave campsite #1 at 10 AM with a 1 hour stop in the middle, I'll get to campsite #2 by 3 PM (or whatever).

Point is, I need the Travel Times between Stops to download to Excel (along with the other data) to figure this out. The Excel download has Turn-By-Turn direction on a different sheet (with the times for each minor step) - I just need the Time to show on the Trip Summary worksheet for the major times between Stops.

Thanks for considering this change.

As a work around for now if you divide the distance by 50mph you will have a pretty good estimate. That includes gas stops, dog stops etc. Many of us use the 50mph for estimating time. If you find your arrival time is significantly different from the estimate figure out your peronl number and use that. It is surprising how accurate this is.

Email RVTW and ask them for this as an enhancement.

I asked about adding a new RVTW feature a new column in the Trip Summary view to show the "cumulative time between selected stops" (i.e. the ETA for Stop 4 per the departure time from Stop 1), and was told during the Live Facebook event that it is already being planned.

So that's great news. I wont need to download to Excel (to manually add the times) if I can do all the planning in the RVTW program. I hope it is in the queue and we will see it in the near future.

Maybe this will help:

In the Trip Settings (click the wrench), go to the "Routing & Driving" tab. Enter your realistic speed including stops, fuel, dog, etc. in the "MPH is my average speed" box and click the button for "Use My Average Driving Speed", instead of "Use Routing Engine Estimate".

Correct me if I am wrong CountryB, but I think he is wanting a cumulative daily drive time. If he leaves campground A, then has a fuel stop and 2 rest stops before getting to campground B, he want to see the total drive time between A and B.

Would be great if you could enter time in hour increments at certain stops, say rest areas and fuel stations that are added on to the total time between major stops.

Yes that's what I want.
If I know I cant "check in" at the campground until after 1PM, what time to I need to leave Stop 1 at (with rest stop and fueling/lunch stop in between)?

It's not hard to figure out in Excel by adding a column for Time, but it would be better if RVTW did this for us. I asked at the Facebook event and they said they are working on it (an ETA feature).

Why do you think you can't check in until 1 PM? If your site is available most cgs let you check in earlier. Many people leave early in the day to get some miles in. It is just a CYA.

Some campgrounds charge extra for early check in. And sometimes you don't know that until you get there. I ran into that a couple of weeks ago, when they charged me $2 for checking in an hour early. And last year, at a newer resort in the coastal south, I got whacked $15 for arriving an hour early.

Wow, I have never heard of being charged for early arrival before. If they are fussy like that I would just wait in the driveway until time. Mostly they like to stagger the arrivals so registration and the cg isn't overwhelmed.

Perhaps if the site is ready - they will let me park.
But if they state the check-in time is after 1PM why not try to time the trip so you get there after 1? No need to sit in the RV for an hour waiting if you have a method to plan your arrival time. That's all I'm saying ...

More importantly is not to arrive too late - or you could get locked out.
